Tell The Raven Archives

It was my first day at Denali Elementary School. Since it was my first day at Denali, my mom was driving me. When I got there my school was big. It even had a elevator for people who can't walk.

My class was upstairs so we took the elevator. Kids aren't aloud to take the elevator unless they are with an adult. During the elevator ride my mom told me I had to get a shot and a test. When I heard that I started to cry because I don't like shots.....AT ALL!

When we got upstairs we met the teacher and sat on a seating area. My teacher's name is Mr.Noon. He is a guy teacher, which is really weird because I'm used to girl teachers but that was still O.K. When I got in the classroom my teacher showed me where I was going to be sitting. I sat by 3 girls and 2 boys. Every week we would change seats.

After my teacher said where I was going to be sitting my mom told me good bye and I would see her when I got off school. I was very nervous even though I've done this alot of times. The first time somewhere new is always scary to some people. Especially me.

In the morning at 8:30 to 9:00 we would work on our AlphaSmarts. At 10:00 we went to library. The library was pretty big. We were aloud to check out 4 books each if we wanted too. I got Boxcar Children, #33.

When we got back to the classroom everybody had snack. Right after snack we would do reading. We were reading about Salmon. After that then we would have choice time. Choice time was when we could do anything that would involve reading, math, or something about school.

Anyway at 11:30 we would go out to have recess. We could only go out if it was 20 below and higher, but if it was colder than we couldn't be able to go outside. When we came in we would have lunch. That was at 12:00. We would have lunch inside the classroom because the lunchroom was too small.

At 12:25 we would clean up until 12:30 because at 12:30 we would do math until it was gym or music. Gym is on Monday and Wednesday, and music would be on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

When gym was over we would go back to the classrooom and finish our math. If we got done early we would read until 3:00. At 3:00 school would be out. My mom picked me up and we talked about my first day at Denali School and how it went. It was a wonderful day!
