One time my dad, my mom, and I went to a hockey game. It was the Nanooks game. When we got there the place was packed with people and it was huge. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! At the very beginning the lights went off and a disco ball was shining in the room. Spotlights were going all over the people. The crowd was going wild! People had these balls that would blink in the dark and they would blink different colors. Just then everybody heard a loud voice.

"Are you ready for your Fairbanks Nanooks?!"

Everybody in the stands was going crazy. Right after we heard the man, here comes the Nanooks out of a big blow-up Polar Bear. The Nanooks were versing Nebraska. Some of the people had sweatshirts on that said, Nanooks. There were different kinds of sweatshirts.

When the game started everybody was keeping a eye on the puck because the hockey players sometimes hit the puck out of the stands and it hits people. We were right at the bottom of the stands, second to last. Anyway during the game our eyes were going back and forth down the ice. They hit the puck so fast you couldn't keep your eye on it.

They even hit the puck so high it went out of the stands, and someone got to keep it. The puck even hit the wall and it chipped some paint off of it. Every time the Nanooks made a goal everybody would stand up and cheer.

Music would come on and they would sing, "Hey! You Suck! Hey! You Suck! Hey! You Suck!."

The hockey players would even get into fights. Since they were the next step up, if they got into a fight they would get kicked off the team for that game.

The people would yell, "Come on!" at the people who are on the ice watching the players in case if they get into a fight. Actually it seemed as if they did more fighting then playing.

I said, "I thought this was supposed to be a hockey game not a wrestling one. If they want to wrestle they should be in the W.W.F. on T.V."

My mom laughed.

The crowd would also yell at the Nebraska team, they would say, "Go home. Boo!!"

In the game when they try to get the puck really close the plastic glass or if they couldn't stop fast enough, they would run right into the wall. They would bang in the wall so hard it would make a loud, "Bang!"

The hockey players would even bang in the wall right where my mom, dad, and I were. My mom and I were frightened by the loud noise from the bang, but my dad wasn't at all frightened. Probably because he is a man.

Right after the 3rd period there was this Popeye frisby throwing contest. There was a bucket right in the middle of the ice and people who have frisbys have to trow them or try to get them into the bucket. Whoever got the frisby in the bucket would win something, but like always no one got it in the bucket, so no one won.

During the 2nd period there was this monster truck driving race but it wasn't that interesting, and they weren't real ones either. Then whenever there was a period there was a 15.00 minute break so people could walk around and go to the bathroom.

After the ending of the 3rd period the Nanooks made 3 goals and the Nebrasks team had three goals. So they had to do the tie breaker. When they had the tie breaker no team made a goal. So the game was a tie.

When the game was over my dad, mom, and I all went home. We had a fantastic time together watching the Nanooks play.
