Eagles are so strong they can kill a baby caribou.

A newborn calf weighs ten pounds. When a calf loses her mother she starts bleating for her.

Where caribou live information:

Caribou dig in the snow with their sharp hooves looking for something to eat. Caribou eat lichen, and lichen grows on rocks. Did you know caribou live in the artic tundra? Caribou also have a winter range and a summer range.

Did you know caribou also travel in big herds when they travel from place to place. The caribou leave the forests and go to the tundra to have their calves. A baby caribou is able to stand and walk an hour after it is born. It can run when it is a day old. The baby has enemies like wolves, bears and eagles.
