ON POST FIRES

The last time I had a fire was when I was on post. It was early in the morning. We had to go drop my dad off at work. Before we took him to work we noticed that the moon was red. My mom said can you see the moon.

We looked at the moon for a moment then we smelled something burning. All of a sudden we saw smoke rising up from the woods. Me, my mom, my dad, and my brother noticed that there was a fire. But thank God we're safe.

The next day we saw the moon was red again. It was another fire. So then we pulled over the car and we went to see what was going on. There were firemen working together to put out the fire. Later that day we heard thunder and lighting. My mom said go cut all the lights out, cut the television off, and don't turn on anything that has electric. So we came back down the stairs and we all sat in the living room.

When the thunder and lighting was over we turned and looked at each other, then we talked about the safety fires. When we were done we asked was everybody okay. Everybody was okay. I think that you should never play with fires.
