Hamme pool
First grade was fun. I liked it. Our teacher's name was Mrs Martin-Muth. She was the best. We went on a lot of field trips but the biggest one was when we went to Hamme Pool. I was always scared to go in the water but it didn't feel right staying out of the water, so I went in. It was kind of a shock because it was so cold but I ignored it and slowly made my way to the shallow water. After I got used to the cold I ventured further out. Seeing people swim in tv shows looked easy so I tried it myself. It didn't work and I slipped and fell under the water. I started to panic.
on a field trip
In Mr.Keener's 4th grade class we were going to take field trip to a farm. Mr.Keener told us if we did not have cold lunch then to go downstairs to get hot lunch. Then the bus got there, and when we got there then we got to look at the bees and all of the plants. Then we went to go see a greenhouse; it was really fun. Then after that we got to make pizza. It was not that good. It tasted like if sand was in the pizza.
Field Trip to See a Boeing 787
Last year I was home schooled, and when they were cold weather testing the new Boeing 787, my family went and got to go inside the airplane. It was so big there were seven beds on the plane. Two for pilots and five for fight attendants.
In the plane the windows did not have covers to make it dark in the plane. To make it dark in the plane the windows could get tinted if you want them to. The Boeing 787 is for going on long flights like from the U.S. to China. The plane has a light setting to make your mind think it is night time and time to go to sleep.
Curling
In our class, on February 2, team Hamliton,of the Wisconsin Curling club came to teach and all us about Curling. There were 4 girls on the team and they all had matching uniforms. Their coach was a man. They explained what curling was about and what positions they all played in. I really enjoyed them telling us about curling.
Angel Rocks
Yesterday I went to Angel Rocks to go hiking with my class. From our school Angel Rocks is about one hour away. It took us about one hour an a half to walk all the way up an about thirty minutes to walk(or jog what i was doing for most of the time) down.
When I saw the first set of big rocks I said, "We are there; that didn't take long," but someone else just had to say " nope we are only like 1/4 of the way there."I was like, this is going to take a long time.
We4 took a break at the first set of rocks. We took pictures, talked, an got something to drink. We had gone a long way up. The break was only 15 minutes long, shorter for some people.
U.A.F
Last week, my class went to the University Of Alaska Fairbanks! I thought it was really fun! There was only two things I didn't like about that field trip! I didn't feel so good because of my allergies! I have been outside too much. I also didn't like how the lunch room was so crowded. There was way too much people in there. Lots of kids from all different school. I had a headache just walking around. I did enjoy the food though!
I had some french fries and I had some ice cream. I got the last scoop before the ice cream machine broke down! I got signatures from...some people. I didn't really know who they were; I just saw a lot of people getting their autographs, so I thought I would get in line to get them too!
Before that we were cutting open a cow heart! I felt really sick after that. Plus I felt sick before that so that wasn't to much fun for me.
Then, we walked up this really steep hill. It seemed like forever but we finally made it to the top! We took a break on some benches then we started to walk again. We went to this building; then we entered a classroom! We learned about what kind of career we want when we grow up! I want to be a vet. There was all different kinds of careers that different people wanted. I was surprised.
After that, we went to go see what a dorm was like. I loved the dorm. It was nicely decorated and it was pretty cute! I thought it was pretty cool!
Finally, we walked back to meet the buses! That was quite a crazy day and I'm glad I made it throughout the day.
Where Would I Go If I Had a Free Airline Ticket
If I got a free ticket to anywhere I wanted to go, I would go to North Carolina. I would go to North Carolina because that's where my dad's side of the family lives. I would go to North Carolina for two weeks, then leave. I would leave in two weeks because my family would start getting attached, and then they wouldn't let me leave. But I would go to see them for sure.
North Carolina has lots of amusement parks, but I like King Dominion and Bush Gardens the most. Bush Gardens is better because it has better rides and they are way scarier.
I like to go to this go-karting place there, too; it is so cool. There are lots of go-karting tracks there. I forgot what it was called, but it is right by the beach.
When I went to the beach, there were giant waves that were like 6 feet tall. They were like monsters that were going to eat someone. On the shore there were lots of sounds... birds were chirping, the waves where crashing to the shore, and of course kids were screaming. I went to the beach a lot. I only went on the warm days, but yet again, ever day is warm there, or else there is rain.
That's where I would go, and what I would do if I got a free airline ticket.
Imago Theater Zoo Zoo
Today we went to the Imago Theater, Zoo Zoo. It has different animals like ant eaters, bunnies, and polar bears. I thought some parts were kind of funny and some were not funny. My favorite was the penguins. The penguins played musical chairs and it was the funniest of them all. There was a lot of laughing and people were standing up to see. The worst was ant eaters. All they did was walk around licking the floor and people.
This is the Imago Theater Zoo Zoo: http://www.imagotheater.com/zoozoo.shtml
The ZooZoo performance
Today we went to the ZooZoo performance and we went with our cute little biddies. It was really fun to watch and there were many parts that were my favorite. The ZooZoo performance was kind of about a zoo. There were a lot of animals. Actually it was people dressed and acting like animals. The main animals that were in the play were anteaters, rabbits, frogs, polar bears, and penguins.
Each animal had something funny to do. Some parts had nothing to do with animals, but it was still very interesting. My favorite part was when the Anteaters would go out in the audience and lick peoples heads. It was really funny and people had lots of fun.
There was also a very funny part when the penguins would play musical chairs. It was funny because sometimes, the penguins would cheat. The polar bears would go out and sniff peoples heads. It was really fun. The frigs would hop around and be silly. The rabbits were doing something funny I guess. It wasn't that funny but the rest was very funny.
The ZooZoo performance was very funny and I really enjoyed it. And so did my buddy!
ZooZoo
ZooZoo is a performance with neon clothes and animals. Plus, it had people dressed as animals doing acts. They dressed as frogs, polar bears, penguins, anteaters, & rabbits. First, they performed as anteaters.
During the anteater act, a anteater was at a restaurant and the waiter was also an anteater, so they started eating ants. Then, they came down into the audience! They started..."licking" everyone. But, it was just near the first row.
For the second act, it was green frogs. What happened was the frogs were jumping up and down, looking around, and then stacked on each other. I thought it was kind of dull.
Next, was the polar bears. They stood on their hind legs and roared! They were four bears at first; then when they brought out a big blue balloon, one left. A bear laid down in-between two bears, kicking up the balloon. The bear in the middle kicked it to the one on the right, then the right bear nudged it to the one on the left. They juggled it around a bit until it went to the ceiling. One bear left when the two other went into the crowd. That was my favorite performance!
Zoo Zoo Zooooooooooo!
Today as a field trip; my class went to the Hering Auditorium. We saw a performance entitled Imago Theater: Zoo Zoo. It was really cool, though parts of it I thought were, well, lame. We went there with our kindergarten buddies. After we arrived at the auditorium, we took our seats and the show began.
The lights turned out.
First, a snake came out. A neon green snake. Very long. And thick, too. It slithered, and twirled, and spun and weaved, and made a whole bunch of "S"'s.
Then an anteater came out and I think the set was supposed to be a diner, because the first anteater sat down, and another came out and that was supposed to be a waitress anteater, I think.
Then some guys dressed as frogs came out. This piece was really dull and boring to me because they hardly did anything!
Then the polar bearish things came. They just ran around and crawled all over the seats in the audience. Later they started playing with a large balloon that I'm pretty sure had bit of helium in it because it went up and up and up, but still slowly came down.
Zoo Zoo Show
Today my class went on a field trip with our buddies to the Zoo Zoo Theater at Hering Auditorium. My favorite part was in the beginning when everything went black and a glowing snake came out and flew around. Then it curled up in a ball and turned blue which was cool. The rest of the show was boring so I fell asleep until the end of the show. Also I don't think my buddy liked it much either because he told me he didn't like it.
Zoo Zoo Trip
Today, we went to a Zoo Zoo Performance. It was our own zoo in Fairbanks. It was people dressed in animal costumes and they acted like the animals they were dressed as. I thought some parts were cool and I didn't like some parts as much. There were birds, a snake, frogs, anteater things, polar bears, penguins, and evil bunnies. I thought the frogs' costumes were the most realistic looking.
What I didn't understand was the audience. They were really giggly. They laughed at some things that I didn't think were funny at all. I was confused on why they were laughing. Our class only laughed at some stuff, but not nearly as much as the other people.
My favorite animal was probably the polar bears. I liked them because they had a balloon and they bounced it around and I thought that was pretty funny. They also got up on two feet and growled. They were cool.
I am glad we all went to the Zoo Zoo performence. It was very fun and I would like to go and see it another time. It was a cool field trip.
Museum of the North
Today our class went to the Museum of the North and liked at all the cool paintings. We went with different people to different stations. The second station that we went to was I think the best because it had passion and cool figurines. The first thing that caught my eye was the outhouse. The outhouse that I saw in the museum was really cool! It had license pates decorating it and little mini things. I think that, that was the coolest.
The other things that I found cool was the relief paintings because they were 2-d and 3-D. It was 2-D because it was flat but, then again it was 3-D because it was carved in and nothing was sticking out to where you can see it unless your really up close.
The thing that people thought was fascinating was the listening room but I thought that it was pretty boring. The person who made it was John Luther Adams. The only thing that I was interested in was that he had devices that went all over the state I think and the device transmitted earthquakes, morning bells, night bells, and northern lights. After a while though the sound got pretty annoying.
Museum of the North
Today we went to the museum of the north. There were some great paintings. The building was built in a weird shape. There's a lot of workers that work at the museum. One of the people that work there said that even the building was art.
The museum was really cool. I got to see old pictures from 1956. My favorite part was the listening room. The listening room changes the sound when something happens in Alaska. If an earthquake happens the sound changes to a low sound.
I talked to Karissa about the museum. I asked her 3 questions and the first one is what she thought about the paintings.
"It looks like they took a long time working on those paintings," she said. The second question was about the listening room. "It was my favorite part of the trip," her second response to the second question. The final question was about the port a potty."I thought it was weird that someone wanted stuff on there bathroom," her final response to the last question. What she meant was that ice cream boxes, deers antlers, and other stuff were on the port a potty.
the museum
We went to the museum yesterday and when we got there it was so big and cool, and we got to look around for like a half a second, and then we were split in to different groups and shown around there was four groups and you got like thirty minutes in each group and we saw all kinds of cool artifacts.
I like all of the pictures and all the art because I love to draw, so I was thinking some day that my art would go up in the museum some day. And the coolest thing I saw in that place was a bird made out of nails. Oh no, that wasn't; the coolest thing ever was a room filed with lights and sound, and when we went out a lady talked and said to move and listen and when we did she also said to look at it close - you can see stuff, and hear bells and people singing. It was so cool.
Museum of the North
This morning we went to the museum of the north, over by the university. We talked about the pieces of art they had. My class was put into four groups and were taken on a tour then rotated.
I was in group four. The first piece looked at was the Alaska Music Room. All the sounds were based on how high the sun was, or how high the moon. There were five different sounds and lots of colors. It made me feel nauseus. I did not have as much fun as I thought I would. I don't want to go back there again. I have more fun doing math.
I talked to a friend of mine to see what she thought of the museum. So I made some questions and started asking, "So how did you like the museum today?"
"I thought it was very colorful and enjoyed it a lot."
WWhat did you enjoy about the museum?"
"I loved it how they put so much hard work and time into the building itself, the walls weren't even strait they were diagonal."
"If you were to go back who would you take and even would you go again."
"I would go again and I would bring my friend Bridget.
Museum of the North
This week my class went on a field trip to the Museum of the North. When we got there the class was divided up into 4 groups, in those groups we learned the different types of art besides just paintings, some of those different types of art were things like sound, real photograph, wood,an art can even be made out of and buildings! I think that the coolest kind of art that I experienced was sound! I had never thought of sound being art. People that make music are called composers.
The composer to the sound we were listening to was named John Luther Adams. We went into this room that is called "The place were you go to Listen" and they had us sit and listen to all these different sounds and when we talked about it they told us that they were coming from signals around the University campus that measure things that are happening in the environment like the amount of wind or sun light, and it even measures earthquakes. Then when they put all the sounds together it sounds like music.
The Museum
Today we went to the Museum of the North. We only saw the art exhibits, but they were great.
First we were taken to a classroom and got split up into 4 groups My group first learned about the types of art, abstract, realistic, 2D, 3D, and relief. The next place we went to we saw 4 paintings and tried to guess the names. The place after that we saw a giant outhouse covered in tons of old-fashioned stuff.
My favorite part was the last room we went to. We were looking down into a room and the walls were slanted, so it looked like you were falling in a never ending spiral. Also there was this cool room that played the sounds of Alaska.
When we got to the classroom Mr. Noon had us interview a student on their experience, and I interviewed Jake. I asked him "What was your favorite art piece?"
"The old-fashioned stuff in the outhouse was cool."
"What was the worst part?"
"I didn't like when they took us into the classroom."
"Would you like to go back?"
"I've been there a couple times but I want to go back."
If you are ever in Fairbanks I recommend you go to the Museum of the North.
Museum field trip
My class and I went to the Museum of the North. It was really fun and when we got there I saw a horse made out of bendy branches. We saw lots of art, but we didn't just see it we also got to listen to it too. What I mean is that there was a room that was white but there were light that made it different colors. The colors were pink, yellow, and purple. There were speakers every were and they made lots of different sounds that made me vibrat.
After the trip we took a partner and asked them 3 questions. the first question was, what was your favorite part of the trip?
She said, "I liked when we got to sit and talk about the different kinds of art."
My second question was, when you were shown the different kinds of baskets, which one did you think was the best?
She said, "I liked the basket that was made out of the whale's bristled teeth."
My last question was, what was the worst part of the trip?
She said" The beginning of the trip when they told us the rules."
The museum was fun and I will definitely go back again.
Museum of the North
Yesterday we went to the museum at the university. We rode a bus there and back. The museum is new and very big. I have been there one time before. We had four groups that we split up into. There was two men and two women that showed us around. The building is like a art piece itself because of the way it was built. The building is like abstract - it has all kinds of shapes and turns to it. That was pretty cool I thought.
The museum was fun, very cool and very very big. I did not like one of the paintings because it was weird and 3D and 2D. I thought that it looked really creepy. I thought that the out house was very cool because it had lots of stuff on the inside and outside. It had license plates, trophys, stickers, guns, instruments, cans, soda and lots of other cool stuff. I do not like abstract at all - it is weird and just shapes put together, I would rather see realistic paintings cause they are of nature or other stuff on the planet.
I interviewed one of my classmate, Andrew. I think that he liked the field trip from what I asked him. I will tell you one of them.
1. "What was the worst part of the field trip?" I asked.
UAF MUSEUM FIELD TRIP!!
YO!SUPER MAN IS IN THE BUILDING WITH SOME GREAT NEWS ABOUT THE UAF MUSEUM MAN! Check it I have been to the museum more than once I have seen everything - all the paintings, animals, they are dead. I said, a museum, not a zoo!!! I have been upstairs and downstairs side to side. I even interviewed one of my friends BLUE-PANDA-SPY. She is on a case right now, but I asked her three questions. Here they go.
1.Which do you prefer abstract or regular? Response: I prefer regular because it is more cool and looks more realistic.
2.What was your favorite part about the trip? Response: When we went into the listing room it made her wonder about the sounds in the room.
3.What was your favorite painting? Response: The Greater Hunter because it looked cool because he put culture then animation sculpture. Then me AWESOME SUPER APPLE SAID THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME MRS.BLUE-PANDA-SPY.
Then she interviewed me and asked me some questions; she's on the most important case of her life, so I can't get the paper from her right now.
You guys should totally visit the University Of Fairbanks Alaska (U A F) GO ICE DOG, AND GRIZZLIES LAST BUT NOT LEAST POLAR BEARS!!!!
Museum
Yesterday, our class went to the Museum of the North. We went to see all of the art upstairs. There was some really cool stuff there. We saw loads and loads of art.
We were split up into four groups. I think I was in group two. My favorite part was a room with music and lights. The music depended on what is happening in Alaska. For example, we heard calm music because there were northern lights happening. The lights depended on the color of the sky and how bright it was outside. I thought it was really cool.
When we got back to school, we got paired up to interview someone in the class. I got paired up to interview Kaylee. "My favorite type of art was the abstract." she said. "I didn't like standing on the high balcony." she told me. "My favorite part was the music and light room too" she told me.
I definitely want to go to the museum again. Next time I go, I want to see the whole museum! We had a lot of fun. I hope I get to go there on more field trips.
Artsy Artsy Artsy Art
Museum of the North. My favorite place in the world.
The building ITSELF is a gorgeous work of art. This was probably the best field trip ever. Especially because it's art. I love art in all forms.
I loved learning the background stories about the paintings; But what I couldn't stop admiring was the building. The walls were curved and twisted. At a certain spot The windows were aligned with the curved wall so the sunlight came in and permeated the room not only with sunlight, but made a beautiful work of art. By nature.
Also, one of my favorite parts was called The Room Where You Go To Listen. It was a smallish-mediumish sized room. In the center of it was a bench. What you would sound like a group of about 12 people singing "ahhhhhh," but their voices had a touch of what sounded like gongs. But the coolest part about all of it was that the sound was not recorded. If you heard a bump of stutter in the music it was the city of Fairbanks having a slight, well, small and short earthquake. In the front of the room was a wall that changed colors depending on the time of day. When I saw it - about 9:00 to 10:00am - it was a soft pink and orange, with almost a touch of purple and blue.
The Museum of the North
Today we went to the University Museum. We learned a lot about art and about artists. I liked the museum a lot and the part I liked the best was the paintings. I like how the artists paint things from an event that happened or they were someplace and they painted what they saw.
Jenna told me what she thought about the museum. I asked her questions about our field trip to the museum and this was what she said:
Me: "Did that museum make you want to be a artist?"
Jenna: "Mmm. No, not at all."
Me: "Why not?"
Jenna: "I'm not good at it and I just don't like it."
Me: "What kind of art are you interested in?"
Jenna: "I'm not really interested in it but if I had to choose one, I would choose the 3D art because I like how it pops out."
Me: "What do you think was the worst part?"
Jenna: "They took forever to talk about random things."
That is what she thought about the Museum.
three paragargh thing we have to write what we did this week
On what we did this week we did some work and some more work. We also did homework, not that much though. It was a fun this week (some week). We had indoor recess (also fun (some fun)). I played on computers all 30 minutes (45 min.).
All I did this week at home this very week of all the weeks was sleep, eat, school, eat & sleep. Like all the other weeks this was the most fun of all, a substitute came into our class. He was okay, fine, defined & great. He was a nice guy.
Today was a great day. It was also kind of short today. I got my work done which is great. To end this short paragraph I will say today is over bye.
I went to Homer for a champion swim meet
I went to Homer, Alaska on December 4-6. It was for a state swim meet. My team, the Stingray Swim Team, went but only 15 of them could make it. I had six events in two days. I only won one, and that was in the 100 IM. That has all the strokes in it. I won by one second.
I had to drive down with my friend and my dad. It took 13 hours to get there and 12 hours to get back. I had a fun time. There was a breakfast that was free and all-you-can-eat. I was in two relays which both times got second place. I didn't get D.Q.ed (which means disqualified.) This was a fun swim meet and I got to miss two days of school.
This was fun because I was with my friends the whole time... Sometimes my friends got really annoying but it was okay. There was 270 swimmers in a really small pool. An the parents were squished into really small bleachers. There was a lot of parents there. There was at least 400 parents or guardians. I felt bad for everyone and all the coaches and swimmers.
The most fun I did was go to this place and had a drink that had sprite with cherry juice and cherries and played some pool. I love the game pool. It is so fun. That's what I did in Homer.
EVER HEARD OF BACON CLOCK
Ever heard of a bacon clock? Well I have. Haven't you? Click this link - http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/Stories/MoreStories/New-alarm-clock.
Read this story about a kid that designed a clock without a alarm; instead he used the aroma of bacon.
My Freakish Pet
My first pet is a dog named Bingo. I was about six when I got him, and I didn't name him!!! My dog is a male miniature schnauzer.

My dog ran away about twenty times. One time I thought he ran away on the last day before I went to my vacation, but he was in the house.
He is a nice dog, but he is not nice to kids. I taught my dog to sit and come. My dog is my favorite and my first pet. I had other pets ahead of him, but he is the best. I've had him for about nine years now; I wonder how much is that for dog years?
LASER VAUDEVILLE!!!!!
On March 30th we went to the Hering Auditorium on a bus to see a show about these people who did stuff with these lasers. It was so awesome.
At the beginning there was a dragon who talked and said not to call him Barney. These two wooden people called him Barney and then he ate them. It was so funny because it was showing some funny acts and some juggling.
At this one part it showed some lasers going into the air; it was so awesome. We sat at the top and had a good view, and some of our classmates sat at this baloney thing. After the show we took a bus back to our school. We had music after the field trip and then recess.
