Harlem Globetrotters
The start of the Globetrotters started in Chicago. The Globetrotters would only clown around if they established a safe lead. They were a serious, competitive team.
After they lost to the Washington Generals, they didn't lose for 38 years. In January 5,1971 they lost to the New Jersey Reds, who ended their winning streak. They also lost to an Austrian team, ending another hot winning streak.
Globetrotters went on a 1270 game winning streak until the Michigan State Spartans beat them. Also the UTEP Miners beat them. Ending their 288 game winning streak. Their most recent lost was to NABC All Stars. I think the games are real.
The 5 retired numbers are 13, 20, 36, 50, and 22.
That's the Harlem Globetrotters.
Harlem Globe Trotters
Today in the gym we met one of the people from "The Harlem Globe Trotters." This guy named Dizzy Grant came and he was telling us about sportsmanship. The globetrotters are a basketball team that travels around the world and have played in 120 different countries. There team has been around for 84 years.
Dizzy Grant is 6'2 and he was born in 1982. He graduated college in '05 and watched a globetrotters game when he was seven. There team colors are red, white, and blue. There team was also discovered in 1926. "On September 12, 1995 they lost 91-85 to Kareem Abdul- Jabbars All star team" said wikipedia.
Rat Attack
Every 48 years a Strange Rat Attack happens in India. A huge number of Rats eat up The Bamboo fruit then the FARMERS RICE!!! I watched this on Nova. There is a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pulse of rats. A scientist used traps, butter, and cages to See how many Rats there were. The scientist dissected two rats. The Indian people need rice to survive the whole year. The type of rat is Black Rat. The farmers were racing against time to get there rice harvested before the rats attacked. Only one village won. All the others were filled with disappointment. Rats are supposed to be dumb. Looks like the Black Rats are not dumb enough. The scientist was saying,"I might only get to see this once." The most recent one was in 2007. If you hate the word "rats" don't read this.
Iceland
Iceland would be a great vacation spot for lots of reasons. The first reason is that there are lots of hot springs, which are pools of water that are heated by hot rocks.
It's also a good spot because the glaciers and volcanoes are beautiful. Another thing is that Iceland has a huge ice cap, and in the middle of it is Iceland's largest mountain for any one that likes to climb.
One last reason to go to Iceland is that you can see the gap in the tectonic plates in Thingvellir National Park. Those are a few reasons you should go to Iceland.
Iceland
Iceland
I, personally, think Iceland would be an absolutely fabulous place to go.
It being the land of fire and ice, you can see the smoking volcanoes, and the frozen ice-caps. Plus: you might even see a volcano under an ice-cap.
And when you're wandering in to Iceland, you might even tumble in to the Thingvellir National Park. There, you will see a main attraction of Iceland; the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. This is where Iceland splits. This, is where all the heat that makes the boiling geysers and and steaming hot springs come from.
Also, it would be great to go to Iceland because in a way it's kind of like a spa. You see, Iceland's most famous hot spring is the Blue Lagoon. And by slipping into here, you'll be soaking in minerals and white mud that will make you skin as smooth as velvet.
Survivor Heros vs Villians
This was a great show. There were 10 people on the heroes tribe and 10 people on the villains tribe. At the start, the heroes won the reward challenge, and got fire. Fire represents energy and life. Then, after 20 minutes or so, the heroes and villains' tribe talked to each other about the upcoming immunity challenge.
The heroes got smoked by the villains. When it was time to vote someone on the hero's tribe, Sugar was it. Only the hero tribe could vote. If you get the immunity, people on your team are safe at tribal council.
It was a 2 hour show. The reward challenge was to dig up a bag and bring it back to your square. It was 1-0 then 1-1. After that, it was 2-1, villains' favor. Then 2-2. Then the heroes won it because they got 3 before the villains did. So it was 3-2, heroes win.
The immunity was a different story. The heroes built their boat and got the fire before the villains did. When it came to the puzzle, the heroes collapsed and were unable to do it before the villains' won the immunity challenge. Basically, there were 2 people doing the puzzle for the villains, who were working together.
CoStA rIcA & pAnAmA
Have you ever wanted it to be a certain day soo badly? That's what it's like for me right now.
March 3rd, I'm going to Seattle. But that's just to meet up with my grampa, "Papa," and my grama, "Bama." The next day after that it's Miami. Then the main attraction...Costa Rica and Panama.
I mean, sure. You could think of this as an "educational experience". But I'm really just thinking of it as a perfect opportunity to go swimming in pure BLUE water, and to get a brilliant tan.
Plus I get to go to the Panama Canal. But honestly, I have nooo idea what that is. Besides a canal. In Panama.
Why? Why am I going on this trip, you might ask. Well you see, I'm turning twelve on March 18. So this would be my Twelve-Year-Old trip. For instance: my dad came up here to Freeze-To-The Core, Alaska. My older sister went to Belize, and my brother recently went to Galapagos.
GO SEATTLE!!!!
I rally want to go to Seattle.
Seattle is where I was born; I moved when I was only 6 months. So it is hard trying to think what Seattle looks like, and what happened there.
I've gone to Seattle a few times to see my family; it was fun there. I really want to see the Space Needle. People say this: "It's a big elevator," and "It has a restaurant that costs a lot of money." So, I'm not going to eat there, but I might.
And I might move back there anyway.
Mexico
If I had an airline ticket to go anywhere in the world, I would go to Mexico. I would go to Mexico because I like Mexican beaches. I also like Mexican hotels. I have been to Mexico 3 times. My mom and me went to Mexico for Christmas. We went to Cancun, Mexico.
Denmark
Denmark, that is the only thing you hear about when you are at my grandparents' house. My Grandfather grew up there. He tells me stories of how he and his brothers would run down the streets. My favorite story was the one about how him and his brother were playing then my grandpa got pushed into the fountain close to their house.
If you didn't already know this, which you probably didn't, I am part Danish. If you don't know already, when you're Danish it means you come from Denmark. Pretty sweet huh. There were two reasons I chose Denmark to write about. One, because of my grandpa and his stories. Two, because about a year ago I saw a movie that was filmed in Denmark and there was a scene in the movie where the girl was walking down the streets. Just on a simple walk, birds were singing and the sun was shining. It just made me want to get on the first flight to Denmark and just walk down the streets just like her. I know it sounds cheesy, but its true.
L.A.
If I had 1 airline ticket to go anywhere in the world, I would go to L.A. because there are a lot of parks and I might meet a celebrity! Plus it is always nice and sunny and I would go to Beverly Hills. I hear it is really nice there.
I would go shopping at all the shopping malls. I would also go to the beach and play in the water! I would go to some of the amusement park and go on the rollercoasters.
I would try my best to meet a celebrity! If I were to choose a celebrity to meet, It would be Mike Meyers from Austin Powers. He is also the voice of Shrek. Did you know that? He played 2 characters in the first Austin Powers movie and 3 characters in the second Austin Powers movie. And L.A. is where I would go if I could go anywhere in the world with 1 airline ticket.
Hawaii
If I got a free airline ticket, I would go to Hawaii. I would go there because I love swimming. I also like seeing underwater life, like fish and stuff. It would be really cool to see a sea turtle.
I would go to the beach every day to get an awesome tan. I would also go swimming every day. If I went to Hawaii, I would want to go snorkeling and see all the fish... no way! I would way rather go scuba diving then snorkeling. I would be able to get closer to all the animals. I would also be able to see all the animals, not only the ones that live near the top, but I would see all the animals that live deep down under the water. I might even get to see a turtle! I would get as close as I could or was allowed to get to the animals.
Hawaii would be the funnest place EVER! I have never been there, but I really want to go, and it would be so much fun.
Australia
If I could go any where in the world I would go to Australia. I'd love to go to Australia because I could go to a zoo and see koalas and kangaroos and other really cool animals.
After that I would go on an awesome tour of the Australian Outback. The next day I would go scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef for awhile then surf the Australian coast.
Then I would finish off the trip by watching an opera at the Opera House in Sydney. I'm not sure I'd like it but I would do it anyway.
Hawaii
If I was given a ticket to go anywhere in the world I would pick Hawaii. I would go to Hawaii because I've already been there and it is super fun. Also I have all my family there. The places I like to go to is the Zoo, the Aquarium, the beach, and the water park.
First of all I like to go to the zoo because every year I go to the zoo. Every year I go, there are new animals. I also like it because the animals there are exotic animals. The animals that I like to see are the giant fishes. They are almost 7 feet in length. There are also penguins and parrots. When you go in the parrot cages, you can buy a bottle of nectar for 1 USD and feed the parrots juice.
The other reason why I really like to go there is the water park. The last time that I went to the water park I had a blast! Another reason why I like it is because I get to go and hang out with my old friends from pre-k.
The second to last thing that I like about Hawaii is that I get to go to the aquarium. The aquarium is always fun; it's the thing that I like to do most. I like the aquarium because it has a fish tunnel, and when you walk through it, it feels like I'm underwater with all the fishes and sharks.
Australia
If I could go anywhere in the world I would go to Australia. I'd go there to see all the exotic animals like the kangaroo, also the koala, and all the other exotic animals.
The koala is one of my favorite animals because when I was a kid I saw a documentary on a koala; they're so cute!
Also its pretty warm there and I love warm weather. And I also love to go to the beach because I love to swim, scuba dive, and snorkel, and anything that involves swimming. I'd do that to see all the strange and weird fish underwater, and maybe see the Great Barrier reef. I love to swim!
I would also like to see all the wonderful cities, like Sydney and maybe an opera. I have never seen one.
And I'd try some of their exotic foods. I have heard the locals eat kangaroo (weird).
Those are some of the reasons I would visit Australia if I had a ticket to anywhere.
Where Would You Want To Go?
I would want to go to Californa and learn art with my Grandma, and then I'd go 3 miles out and go to a farming area that smells like COWS!... and ride my horse when I get there. He smells like Cherry Blossoms, and every day I ride him, I would wrap a cherry blossom in wire and put it on his saddle, but now Casey is in Kentucky, and now when I want to go visit him I need to go to Kentucky where my sister lives.
And so I just want to go to Californa because I want to paint with my grandma and spend time with her.
Let'sHearItForNewYork!
New York City.
I have wanted to go there ever since I really ever heard about it from my Dad when he was telling me that he went to college there.
I asked him about it and he said that New York City is a big city, and that there are lots of people there, and it rains a lot there. When I heard this I knew that with a city came big shopping. This is when I decided I wanted to go to college there and live there the rest of my life.
That same day, my Dad and I went to the library. While he was busy looking at Marvel comics, I was settling myself down by the New York section.
I learned that Times Square is where I would love to go Saturday night, not only because of the shops, but because of the totally awesome light that you'll see.
Sometimes I think about being a journalist. When that comes to mind, so does The New York Times.
Also, as I mentioned, New York gets a lot of rain. I'm fairly sure that this is true. Most people try to stay inside when it's raining cats and dogs outside, but I slip on a T-shirt, hop on my bike and get soaked.
Japan
If I got a free airline ticket, Japan would be my destination! I think it is a great place because of the food they serve there! Also, it's the place where they create anime! I'm learning Japanese right now so I'll be prepared. The only bad thing is if you're a tourist the Japanese citizens will think less of you.
I think their culture is fascinating. I only know a few words and sentences. For example, "Watashi ai anata" means "I love you" in English. "Watashi ai inu" means, "I love dogs." Japanese is a complicated language!
I wonder what their hotels would look like. I imagine a lot of pottery & art, if they even have any hotels.
There would be a lot of anime in video stores. Japan is where they create anime. I would be excited for anime because I watch a lot of it, such as Naruto, Naruto Shippuuden, Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2,& Bleach.
I also think their food is great! Mayflower is the only Asian buffet I went to in Alaska, and I love it. I prefer Asian food over American food. My favorite part about Asian food is the sushi, & ramen! Salmon,& shrimp are my favorite sushi. I guess I like shrimp for the ramen, maybe chicken.

three paragargh thing we have to write what we did this week
On what we did this week we did some work and some more work. We also did homework, not that much though. It was a fun this week (some week). We had indoor recess (also fun (some fun)). I played on computers all 30 minutes (45 min.).
All I did this week at home this very week of all the weeks was sleep, eat, school, eat & sleep. Like all the other weeks this was the most fun of all, a substitute came into our class. He was okay, fine, defined & great. He was a nice guy.
Today was a great day. It was also kind of short today. I got my work done which is great. To end this short paragraph I will say today is over bye.
AVALANCHES
Avalanches are one of the deadliest and heaviest things in the world. Avalanches killed about 50 people in a year. Avalanches can weigh up to 100,000 tons. A avalanche can only start if the mountian is 25 degrees or steeper.
there are people who study avalanches. One of the people who study avalanches is named Doctor Adams. Doctor Adams studies avalanches by staying in a shed on the side of the mountain and uses special tools. His computer program will tell skiers and snowboarders where to go.
When The Nazis Invaded Denmark Pics
I was looking through some pretty intense pics. They were photos of when the Nazis invaded Denmark. They're the real-life deal. You should check 'em out.
The story of the pictures is that in World War II the Nazis invaded a lot of countries. One of which, was Denmark. In Denmark, to make the Danes more furious with the Nazis, and to give the Nazis more satisfaction, the Nazis took away all the Jewish people who lived there. A good portion of the Jews got away. But you'll be able to see the rest in some of the pics by clicking on the link above.
Several pictures show some of the Jews' last resort. That being committing suicide, so they wouldn't have to face torture with the Nazis.
Well I can't explain it all. Like I said, Click the link. It's really worth it.
EVER HEARD OF BACON CLOCK
Ever heard of a bacon clock? Well I have. Haven't you? Click this link - http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/Stories/MoreStories/New-alarm-clock.
Read this story about a kid that designed a clock without a alarm; instead he used the aroma of bacon.
Hawaii
Today I'm going to the beach and it is very exciting although I miss all my classmates. In Hawaii there aren't many things to do because everyone is in school. I just thought that I should write on the website to see how you guys are doing. By the way how are you guys doing?
It is really hot here and it's not as good as you would think. There is a lot of humidity and there is a thunderstorm coming. But the good part is that I finished all of my math homework. Well if you ask me questions about Hawaii on the comments then I'll be happy to answer . Well I'll write later...
Round the world in eighty days.
I am reading a very interesting book. It's called Round the World in Eighty Days. It's interesting because it tells you how you can go around the world in eighty days. It starts at France and it will end at France. The part I'm at is when they're in India (One of my favorite places) some people are doing a ritual for the goddess, Lory, or something. I forget because I don't have the book right now. The characters who are trying to save the intoxicated women are Phillas Fogg, his servant, and a very intelligent man.
Mr. Noon said many people have read this book and have liked it, so I tried it out and I can't put it down until S.S.R. time is over. I wish we had 40 minutes of S.S.R. because I really like the book. I bet you will like it when you read it. People around the world have liked the book. So be part of the crowd and read it.
Phillas Fogg is a suspected robber because the people in England think he robbed a bank before he went on the trip. I don't know what will happen next because it's my first time reading it. I hope he isn't the bank robber and the newspapers are mistaken because I like him because he is very intelligent like his travel mate.
SOUTH DAKOTA
SUPER MAN IS IN THE BUILDING, THE WRITING LEGEND IS BACK!!!
Today I, SUPER APPLE, and my class went on a field trip to Herring Auditorium to watch people from South Dakota dance. It was so weird and cool, like their creator name was like ligusher or something, but we all know that GOD is our creator. This lady, I don't recall her name, but she could make the hula hoops into different animals, shapes and planets; it was awesome.
My Freakish Pet
My first pet is a dog named Bingo. I was about six when I got him, and I didn't name him!!! My dog is a male miniature schnauzer.

My dog ran away about twenty times. One time I thought he ran away on the last day before I went to my vacation, but he was in the house.
He is a nice dog, but he is not nice to kids. I taught my dog to sit and come. My dog is my favorite and my first pet. I had other pets ahead of him, but he is the best. I've had him for about nine years now; I wonder how much is that for dog years?
Death Valley
Today I read an article called Death Valley. It is in California. It is by Shirleyann Costigan. It is about pioneers prospecting in Death Valley.
Death valley is a place where there was a gold rush, and many prospectors died because it is a dry desert. A lot of people go to Death Valley and have never been heard from again. It hardly ever rains there, and if it does it is a very little amount. Death Valley was once a lake, and it was a lake when Native people arrived. pioneers didn't arrive until 1849. Pioneers often starved and died in Death Valley, and in most cases they even ate their oxen to survive! And if they managed to escape it was through the Mojave Desert, and they would die if it was summer time because it was so dry. But if they tried to escape during the winter they would have a chance at surviving because the snow melt would provide water.
I am going to Hawaii!
In February I am going to Hawaii. It is going to be so fun. We, my family and I, are going to go snorkeling. While I am in the ocean I am going to have to be strapped to my mom or my dad so that I don't float away in the currents, and I am going to be walking my 1 year and 2 months old brother through the ocean, and he will have a lot of floaties strapped to him. He will be that old when we are there.
We are going to stay on the island called Khiha. The last time my parents went to Hawaii they rented a Mustang and I hope that they do again. The last time they went, which was last year, one their friends was having a wedding. And I had to be baby sat by my Aunt for a week.
This time we are going to stay longer than a week! And last time they went down in February too. We are going to bring one of my best friend's sister. And she is going to get paid to watch my brother. My mom is going to give her a couple days of her own time, because not many 18 year old girls get to go to Hawaii. And if she does not do good in school she isn't going to go.
