Fairbanks Alaska

Fairbanks is my home town and I love it here because it is very beautiful. It is nice here in the summer because it is very hot but in the winter it is very cold. I mean it. Like last winter, it got down to -40; it was very cold. Fairbanks is big, but I don't care; I love Fairbanks, and I never ever ever want to leave my home town. If I was given a ticket, I would give it away, because I never want to leave Fairbanks.

LEGO

LEGOS are fun to play with. They do fall apart sometimes. You can do everything with them. They do come in different shapes and sizes. You can even build your own ship or house or a bike or...something!!

Babies

Are babies cute? Are babies fragile? Are babies spoiled? Are babies happy? Are babies little? Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes. Babies are cute, fragile, spoiled, happy, and little.

Tell the Raven

Tell the Raven is a fun site for Mr.Noon's class. We make blogs and we write about what's happening, or what's going on in our life. We usually are on this site a lot because it is a class website.

There is a story about this website and I think that it is true. Our school has a totem pole in our playground made out of red cedar wood. There is a raven a panther and something else. Sixth graders from like 10 years ago made that totem pole with a true Alaskan. The raven is on top so then it can tell the world about all the great things that happens in our school.

three paragargh thing we have to write what we did this week

On what we did this week we did some work and some more work. We also did homework, not that much though. It was a fun this week (some week). We had indoor recess (also fun (some fun)). I played on computers all 30 minutes (45 min.).

All I did this week at home this very week of all the weeks was sleep, eat, school, eat & sleep. Like all the other weeks this was the most fun of all, a substitute came into our class. He was okay, fine, defined & great. He was a nice guy.

Today was a great day. It was also kind of short today. I got my work done which is great. To end this short paragraph I will say today is over bye.

Christmas time is almost here

Christmas time is almost here, and I can't wait! I have lots of presents under my mom's tree, under my dad's tree, and maybe under my grandparent's tree. It's going to be a great, but it's going to be crazy on Christmas Eve because I have to go to Delta to open my presents from my family that lives there. My mom has to work on Christmas. How lame is that?

I have 9 or 10 presents at my mom's house. I have 4 presents at my dad's house, so my Christmas is going to be fun. I don't really care about the presents, actually. I want to give presents instead of getting a lot. Well, I don't mind getting them because it's nice to get them, but I don't care how many I get.

new york

Hello fellow students. As some of you know, I went to Washington DC, Virgina, New Jersey, New York, and North Carolina. Well, yesterday we went to the city (New York). We went to the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building.

To get to the Statue of Liberty we had to ride a ferry. The ferry was full of people. It was fun to ride the ferry.

It was very windy at the Statue of Liberty. I felt like I was going to fly away.(Not really, but it was really strong.) The Statue of Liberty was very beautiful. It is made out of copper. It was just redone a little while ago.

The copper was oxidized, and that is why it is greenish blue color. Oxidized means to react with oxygen, so if you see something made out of copper and it is greenish blue that means it is oxidized.

We also went to the Empire State Building. we got tickets to go to the observatory and we went up 80 floors, and then stopped. Then we went up 6 more floors, and then we went outside and looked over the edge of the Empire State Building. It was a long way down. It was a beautiful sight. There are 102 floors on the Empire State Building.

Christmas

Its almost Christmas and the tree is filling up in a mountain of gifts. Usually people want a lot of gifts. But that's the whole point. I thought that Christmas was supposed to be about giving, and having a great time with your family, but now there are people just wanting things then they get it but don't return to the person that gave them the perfect gift.

I think that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, and it is, but when you meet up with a grump like Scrooge, then I would think that your Christmas has a dent in it knowing that someone isn't happy when you see someone hating Christmas with their family.

Then I bring us back to wanting things. Sometimes there are Scrooges out there because they want something so bad but then when it comes to Christmas the don't get it, and they think they are but there not. In the future when people like parents try to get something for their kids it doesn't happen because they don't have money or their kids want, but don't appreciate what they get.

This Christmas I think I am not to receive but to take from me and give to the people who I think should deserve the gifts of Christmas.

Christmas

Christmas is coming! It's December 14th already! I am so excited for Christmas. We put our Christmas decorations and tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving. We will have kind of an early Christmas at home, because on Christmas day, we will be in California. So far, there is already a bunch of Christmas presents under my tree.... yay! About one half of them are mine too.

For some reason, I am really excited for Christmas this year. I think it might be because I am going on vacation for it, and maybe it's because I am getting a lot of presents. I hope everyone has a great Christmas! Happy holidays!

a very weird raking business with many things that happen (mostly to some guy named someguynamedkyle)

Months ago me and my friend Joeshep Stone started on a raking business. First he went into my house and we got prepared, second we went biking, third we pressed the button, quadruple we crossed the sidewalk.

Me and Joeshep picked a house and I said to Joeshep, "This place has a nice volume of leaves."(I thought to myself, too much math).

Joe said to go check the house, and I did (as always).

I opened the gate; then the gate closed by itself (as usual). I said to Joe this place is haunted, but not too haunted, then all of a sudden some little boy riding a tricycle biked out of the pathway to the backyard. You know, like that movie the creepy guy from Saw.

I asked him,"Where's your mom or dad?"

He said, "IN THE BACkyaRD!!..!..."

Avalanche Watch Out

Avalanches are very dangerous. They kill a lot of people. Avalanches can happen at 25 degree angles or more, but no less. Avalanches can happen two ways. One is slab avalanches. Slabe avalanches are big blocks that roll down the hill or mountain. The other is a slide avalanche, which is just powdery snow rolling down the mountain or hill.

Dr. Adams is a person that studies avalanches. He has many ways to study avalanches. He can use computers to even go outside and do research. He also uses T.N.T or explosives. Dr. Adams used T.N.T when he was in a house so he could see how someone would get out of a house covered in snow. I thought he was crazy, but he is very inteligent.

Th most amazing thing i learned that was that a avalanche can happen at a 25 degeer angle. I didn't now that it could do that. I thought that it could only happen at a very high mountain. That was what I learned that i thought that was amazing.

Number the Stars

Me and my class read the story Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. It was a good book, at least I thought it was good. When I started reading it I didn't like it, but now I think the book is awesome! The book's about a girl named Annemarie and her friend Ellen. They lived during World War 2.

It was really bad at the time because there was no butter, barely any meat, and no leather. Since there was no leather, Kirsti, Annemarie's little sister, had to have her shoes made of fish skins. Back in the time there were solders everywhere.

Because Annemarie's friend was a Jew, they had to take Ellen and her family to safety. When they took Ellen to safety they went to the country to stay with uncle Henrik (Annemarie's uncle). When Annemarie and Ellen lived there, they had a death, but it was a fake death. They did a fake death because they knew that the Nazies would come to see why so many people were gathering together, so that's why they pretended a death.

World War ll And Number The Stars

Our class read a book called Number The Stars. It is about events in World War 2. A very important character in the book is Annemarie. Annemarie is a little girl who lives in the time of World War 2. Annemarie, her best friend Ellen, and her little sister, Kirsti live in Denmark. Denmark was a place where the Germans invaded.

Hitler has a whole army of Nazi soldiers who capture Jewish people to be deported. You can see pictures of World War 2 and read about many facts about how badly the Jews were treated.

Ellen and her family are Jewish so she has to try her best to blend in and pretend not to be Jewish. They leave Denmark so Ellen will be safe and will not be taken away by soldiers. At the end of the book, Annemarie keeps a necklace that Ellen had so she can keep it safe and Annemarie hopes to see Ellen again.

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving I thought that it was really boring. The only reason that I thought it was boring was the fact that it was old people and there was no one to hang out with. But on the bright side there was delicious food and awesome pie.

Also my grandma is in town so I got to go shopping on Black Friday. We spent a whole lot of money. My Thanksgiving is still not over because my mom, dad, and I all went to my aunt's house to eat turkey and ham, so in our garage there is a turkey and a ham that we have to eat.

On Saturday my friend and I went to go tubing on Birch Hill and it was a lot of fun. Tubing is when you get in a tube with a plastic bottom. Birch Hill is too hard to walk up, so they hook you on to a belt and bring you up in your tube. The next thing is that you pick a lane and old on tight as you go down the super icy hill. You might go in to the parking lot (but you don't really because they put hay down to stop you from doing that). So when we got to the top of the hill we started to slide down but after the first jump we started to slow down on the track and then.... We stopped right in the middle and had to walk down the rest of the way.

My day :)

In the morning I get up and get dressed. Then my mom or dad takes me to school (which would be Denali Elementary!!!) When the bell rings at 8:30 all the kids go to their classrooms, (I am in Mr. Noon's class.) Next at about 8:45 Mr. Doran (our principal) talks to the school about the announcements. After that we say the pledge of allegiance. Then we start our day out with math. At 9:45 some math students from another class come back to join us, and we start with free time where we have snack and use the bathroom.

Next we start on any work that we need to finish. Later it is time to grab our gear and head down to special!!! After 30 minutes it is time to go outside. When we come inside at 12:30 everyone in 5th - 6th grade gets their lunch. After lunch we all start reading our own book. After 30 minutes of that, we start on our unfinished work again for the rest of the day. At 3:00 the bell rings for dismissal. After that I go and pick up my sisters and we walk to different places where there are things for us to do. That is mostly how my day goes:)!!!!!!!

One Good Monday at after school Program

I love Mondays, especially at after school program. It's fun, and I love to go with my friends. We get to do many cool projects like knitting, learning about the earth, doing art projects that have to do with math, and they even help you with your homework. At my school we might do it differently, so here's how we have after school program.

First, after school we go outside, but if its too cold out then we just play in the gym. Then after about 15 minutes we line up in a line and get a snack from the box; the lady who runs the a.s.p. will check us off to see if we're here or not. She tells us about some kind of news.

After snack we go to our groups and we do some kind of activity. We have different color groups. My group was purple, but now it's pink. When we get to the right classroom we do our homework. If we finish our homework early we could play on the computer or draw. In the purple group we would stay and do something like on Monday we would knit until 4:15 and then we would switch to some other place. But in the pink group we just stay in the same room doing what I explained before, homework and something else.

EVER HEARD OF BACON CLOCK

Ever heard of a bacon clock? Well I have. Haven't you? Click this link - http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/Stories/MoreStories/New-alarm-clock.

Read this story about a kid that designed a clock without a alarm; instead he used the aroma of bacon.

Fly On The Wall

I think being a fly on the wall is really fun. Being a fly on the wall is when you are very quiet and you write down what you see, think, and hear. My class went through the halls of the school and our teacher dropped us off in different places. The first place I went was by a classroom on the top floor. I wrote down a list, not a story. Some of the things I wrote were,

* People walking and wispering
* laughing
* writing on the white bored

The next time I went I was near the library right by the door in the corner. I decided to write a story this time, and I made it really funny (in my opinion). The last one was downstairs on a bench by the gym. I made each story different as you can tell so I made this one into a list/story. If you think being a fly on the wall is cool then you should try it, just grab a pencil and a note book or just a piece of paper and go somewhere, where ever it may be, and just write down what you see and hear.

The Eavesdropping Flies on the Wall

One day Mr. Noon told us that we were going to go around the school and he was going to drop one of us off around the school. Then in like ten minutes he would pick us up from around the school. We were going to be flies on the wall...

So the first location I was by the library on the wooden bench; I had never known that lots of kids talk really loud in the hallway. I also noticed that kids stomp down the stairs and teachers don't. There were people that were going down the hall talking about their hats getting token away by their teacher.

The boy said, "That was so mean. It is not right to take a person's hat away." He seemed really mad. It was really Humorous. (hahaha.)

My second location was by Mrs. Reabold's class and Mrs. Brown's class. I noticed that lots of people don't come by there. There was this guy that was fixing the heater, and his tools were so loud i could barly hear myself think. I also heard Mr.Wortman telling a story about not being rude...it was very exciting.(hahaha.)

Fly on the Wall

For the past 2 weeks my class was getting dropped off around the school to observe things around the school. I think that a fly on the wall is when you sit or stand somewhere and then observe the things that are happening around you. That is what we did in our school.

I was in 3 different places. The first place i was in was the doorway of the back of the school where everyone comes in from recess. When it seems like the place is empty and not high-traffic it is. When I was there I could see everyone go down the stairs and I could see the main part of the school.

The second place that I was at was underneath the fire extinguisher. It was in the hall. That wasn't the most exiting area but it still had movement. Mrs. Shira said, "Hi," and then I said, "Hi," back. There was also some tool men talking about how they could fix the door in Mrs. Reabold's class. When we were almost done I saw Mr. Noon coming down the hall.

Free writing is hard to come up with. I just wanted to talk about something but I don't know what to talk about. That's why the name of this story is Free Writing. I like to Free write it is really fun. I just mostly like to Write.

If I were a Yu Gi Oh card

If I were a Yu Gi Oh card I would be Cyber End Dragon. It's really really strong. Trust me, you would want it too. If I can't be it, I will still want Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon; it's even stronger than CED. The card you will not want is a card that has 100 attack and 100 defense. Reminder: CED is Cyber End Dragon. It's just a reminder.

I sure wished there was a Goliath card. Had fun reading this?

My Little Brother Noah

My little brother is two months now. He is awesome but he punches me a lot. Whenever he kicks his legs, my mom says he is climbing a mountain. My mom calls him her little mountain climber. He makes the funniest faces and the saddest faces I have ever seen. He looks at me when I am by him, and when I leave he starts to cry. His room is right by mine. When he wakes up crying, I don't wake up.

Spider

According to "Frightful Animals" in National Geographic the goliath tarantula's bite is deadly. The goliath bird eating tarantula's bite is fatal to its prey. That's one strong bite! The goliath is one big tarantula. It's known to become the size of a man's foot. That's about 12 inches long. It also has no teeth. It has fangs the size of my pinky. So when the tarantula bites it injects a venom that turns its inside into a soup-like liquid. Then it drinks it!

Did you know that the goliath bird eating tarantula got its name when a man found it eating a small bird, so he named it the goliath bird eating tarantula. But I don't know if the man's name was Goliath!

I think the goliath tarantula is big, scary, and dangerous. I don't know if you think the goliath is all these things, but I had fun reading about the goliath tarantula. It is awesome!

TONY HAWK

I, SUPER MAN, love Tony Hawk. He is the skate king. He is a role model to all children. Tony Hawk has inspired me to skateboard myself. He has been one of the first people to master like 590 flips at at least 18 years old.

He has created so many flips and tricks, at like 18 years old man. Tony Hawk is my favorite skateboarder of all time, if someone tells who's better then Tony they're wrong. I am going to keep skating, what about you, world?

SKATEBOARD, ALL YOU PEOPLE!!!!!!!
