Spaghetti looks like string because how long it is. It tastes like tomato sauce. It smells a little funny. And it feels so slimy, warm, squishy, and warm. And I like spaghetti.

Now, some of you who don't really know me don't know that my dad is on a TV show called "The Deadliest Catch". Its about people on boats who go crab fishing in Alaska. Its on the Discovery channel. My dad was on 3 boats. "The Time Bandit" first few seasons; "The Wizard" two seasons ago; and "The Kodiak" last and I think this season. He's most famous for The Time Bandit, though. One time he even saved a guy's life! His name is Russell Newberry. If you've seen the show before, you might know that he got fired then rehired, and now we don't know what's going on.

Another thing about my dad, is that he takes me places for a month or two every summer. We always go to Tennessee and New Jersey. I used to live in Tennessee so I get to see a lot of friends and my grandparents live there, so that works out really well. We go to New Jersey because my dad knows a friend there who has a girl my age named Sarah. They have a big, big house and a dog and 3 cats. They also have a big pool, and whenever we visit there we go to an amusement park. Usually Six Flags. In Tennessee I stay at one of my best friends' house. Her name is Kinsley. I've known her 7 years of my life.

Its rea'lly fun going with my dad to many places. Ive been to around 18 or 20 states. Somewhere in there (:

I'm reading the Harry Potter books, and they are so much better than the movies. The movies help you get a better image, but they leave out a lot, which I can understand because if they used EVERY single detail the movie would be like 8 hours long. They are one of my favorite series of books I've ever read. It really makes me wonder what's going on in the writer's head if she can make up all of this stuff, you know?

The first book was good, and childish, but as you go on it's like seeing these people you don't even know grow up inside your head. When a character dies you feel like you know them so you feel sad. Maybe that's just me? I don't know, but when you get around the 3rd to 4th book, you see that they are not kids anymore. They grow up and do things differently from when they were 11. Or when something good happens you feel all happy.

It's definitely one of my favorite series I've read because you feel like you're meeting all of these people. You get a feel for them.

I love to sing even though I can't do it in front of people. I love to draw even though I'm embarrassed of my drawings. I love to dance even if I'm not that good at it. I love to climb trees even though I always get scratched up. I love to swim even though I have big ears and they stick out a lot. I love to play tag even though I'm always it. I love to type even though people say I'm on the computer too much. I love to write even though I would never publish many of my stories. I love to run even though I get made fun of for it.

The point of this is of you love to do something, just do it. No matter what people say. No matter what people do. If it makes YOU happy, then go for it. It doesn't matter what the people around you think. It only matters what you think. (:

So, we are one chapter away from finishing our book Bud, Not Buddy. Its about this kid named Bud Caldwell whose mom died when he was six. He didn't know where his dad was so he had to go to an orphanage. He sets off to find his dad after being in an aggressive foster home. He has a few flyers of who he thinks is his dad in a band named "The Dusky Devastators". His name was Herman E. Calloway. Bud goes and tries to find him and when he does, Herman is very mean to Bud. But come to find out Herman is his grandfather. It's really amazing how the author twisted everything when Bud was saying he was his dad.

Have you ever driven on an icy road? I have. Last year my dad and I were going home from hockey and we tried to stop, and the car just started to go side ways. Then my dad was trying to get us to get back the right way. Then we stopped and the light turned green. So then we drove home.

Some solutions, so this does not happen to you: You could get studded tires, have anti-lock brakes, and be careful.

The complications we had were that we almost get in a crash. The other complication we had was that there was a lot of traffic. That is the bad weather problem that I have had before.

In Tennessee we used to get a lot of stormy weather with lightning, thunder, hail, and lots of rain. The hail was like the size of golf balls! Here they're not even as big as marbles. We also had many tornadoes. One was so close to my house that I could see it like right outside my window. We had to turn off all our TVs and sit in the hallway for 20 minutes. At least it didn't come through our house, though, like many other people. The next day after the tornado, there was a path of torn down trees. There was also a lot of burnt ones because of the lightning.

One time, I was going out of the restaurant that my mom worked at, and I got hit in the head with something like a cold ice cube! When I looked up there was a whole bunch of hail coming down hard. It even dented the cars! The only thing we could do about it was wait until the storm was over. We ended up staying until like 9pm. When we took our car to the shop, they fixed it a bit to make it so it wasn't so dented.

Here in Alaska, it gets VERY cold. This whole week (and part of last week) has been around -40 below! Just going outside will make you shiver violently. Yesterday I was going home from school, and I always get picked up, but when I was walking downstairs, I was so cold! I couldn't even feel my legs! But you always have to dress warm in Alaska with sweaters, coats, snow pants, gloves, and so on.

So, everybody says I'm a really good typer. They always say, "It's because you're on the computer too much!" But, honestly, I'm not. I rarely get on anymore. Yes, there was a time when I was on like 24/7 but not anymore. I guess since I was on so much I memorized the keyboard. People get really annoying though. SO STOP (:

I have had many pets. One of them was a goldfish named Chucky. He lived for five years. Me and my brother fed him. He ate fish flakes.

Another pet I had was a dog named Lady. She was an energetic dog. When I was little she would love to run around the yard with me. But Lady did have a problem; she liked to run away. One time she ran away and never came back. We don't know if she got hit by a car or if someone took her, but she will always be awesome.

The last pet I had is a mastiff named Chief. He slobbers a lot! He loves food and sleeping, and he is a fat dog. I won't even tell you how much he weights. Now you have learned about my furry and scaly friends.

I wish I had the ability to fly because then I could fly to Hawaii for a day and not pay to fly on an airliner. Flying would be great because I would go to a warm place when it is cold here. It would also be nice to be able to fly because if you were running from a bully or someone mean, you could just take off and fly away. That is why I want to be able to fly.

The other ability I would want is to be able to run 60 mph. If I could run 60 mph I could be to my friend's house in seconds. I could also run to hockey and get there faster than riding in a car.

Those are the special abilities I would want to have if I had a special ability.

On Christmas Eve we got to have my sister so we had a little Christmas with her. I gave her a mixed pink colored top; she really enjoyed it. She gave me a lot of stuff. She gave me face cream, 3 things of lip gloss, lime all mine, passion for papaya and crushed candy. She also got me 3 bottles of nail polish, a picture frame that she made, nail polish remover pads and of course a Merry Christmas!!!

On Christmas my Mom and I spent the night at my Grandma's house. In the morning we had eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast. It was so good! Then at about 10:45ish we headed to church for the 11 o'clock service. After church we went home, ate lunch and opened our gifts. I got a mini video cam, Super Mario Bros., a miniish cork board, a bunch of hair things, clothes (of course), candy, a puzzle jewelry box, a new pair of gloves, Diary of a Wimpy Kid Cabin Fever, a monkey robe, chap stick and a wild animal calendar.

So, we just got back from winter break. I wasn't here the last week we got out because I was sick. I heard it was fun though.

On Christmas morning I awoke at 4am! I didn't mean to. It just kind of happened. I went to wake up my mom because I was hungry. She told me to stay in her room until she got back. When she walked into the room at last with some toast. Then when I was done I walked into the living room to find a large trunk that looked as though it were made of black shiny snake skin. Inside of it were a bunch of wrapped presents. Some were unwrapped though, like a clock that had a purple neon light circling it and with a black and white photograph of Marilyn Monroe in the middle. I also got an iPad, a little fridge for my room, and the 3rd Harry Potter book, The Prisoner of Azkaban (I'm gonna need the 6th here pretty soon).

After Christmas was a bit boring considering I spent all my iTunes cards up, and finished my new book. But I did go to Hot Topic and I got a Pokemon shirt with Pikachu on it. I also got some bracelets and a new necklace. I did some "after Christmas shopping".

The biggest thing I did after Christmas though, was that I dyed my hair pink. It took forever though because the woman who did it was on the phone constantly. When she blow-dried my hair, it burned because I had my necklace on and when metal gets hot it burns.

So that's about all I did over Christmas break! :)

My winter break was very fun. For one, my birthday was during the break. I just had a family birthday. We played monopoly and our game lasted 2 and a half hours. Then we just called it a draw. Then on Christmas Eve we went to church. On Christmas I woke up at like 6 A.M and woke up my dad and brother at 7A.M. I got a gift card, a Nook tablet, a case for my Nook, a Barns and Noble gift card, a cover for my blanket, a screen protecter for my iPhone, and a new case for my iPhone. Then later that day I got to help cook Christmas dinner. After that we went over to my aunt and uncle's house and did our Christmas gift exchange. Then later we ate our Christmas dinner and watched Buddy the Elf. That is what I did over break.

Winter break was awesome. For Christmas I got everything I wanted. I went over to my friend Ryin's house. It was really fun because, we went sledding on the UAF hill. Me and Ryin got on a sled together and when we got to the bottom of the hill we both fell on our faces. It was really cold. We also went to the mall to get some new shoes. The shoes I got were $75.99. That was the most money I've ever spent on shoes. But it was worth it because I love my shoes that I got. They have checkered laces. The colors of the laces are black and light blue. I would have picked purple but they didn't have anymore purple shoelaces. But the blue i got goes perfectly with the colors on my shoes.

I used to have a dog named Chewy because he chewed on EVERYTHING! He was part chihuahua and part poodle. He was a choodle. Anyway, last year my great aunt, Sandy, came to live with us because she had nowhere else to go. She loved our dog! She fed him, potty trained him, and so on. But one day during summer when I was with my dad in Tennessee, she just took of with my dog! Just took him! I honestly don't know why. It made me feel terrible. But now she has alzheimers. It really sucks.

When I was a little kid I got stung by a bee. So how it happened I was playing outside, and all of a sudden I feel a pinch. So I went to show my teacher, and she said I had got stung by a bee. She also said I got stung by a Yellow Jacket. And when ou stung by a Yellow Jacket it really, really hurts. She said she got stung by a Yellow Jacket before.

So then she sent me to the nurse's office so I could tell her I got stung. Then the nurse put some cream on it that made it feel better. But that was the time I got stung by a bee!

Me, Danielle, Jenna and Destinee are doing a Secret Santa. If you don't know what that is then I'll tell you. It's when you get 3 or more people and you each write your names on separate pieces of paper. Then you put the papers in a bucket (or you can give it to someone you trust to hand it to you) and you mix it around. Then you each pick at random. It's going to be fun. I don't know what I'm going to get my person though. It's going to be hard. I can't wait!

So, this blog is about traveling. I travel every year with my dad. My mom and dad are divorced so my mom doesn't go with us. We travel everywhere. I've been to Arizona, Tennessee, Alaska (duh), Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, California, Kentucky, Connecticut, Idaho, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington; 15 states. Most people I know haven't been out of Alaska, or even their home town! I think it's cool that I can experience things that other people can't. My mom used to live in Guam and they thought she was magic because of her blond hair. It's pretty cool that my family travels.

Last year I was in the talent show. I sang Our Song with Miranda. I was scared the whole time. There were teachers, students, and parents. ARG!!!!!

We were the 15th act. We were finally up. When we got up on stage, I saw everybody looking at me. I started to feel butterflies. I got so nervous, I couldn't back down; I was on the stage and the music started to play. My part was up first, and I started in late and no one noticed my mistake. I was so amazed. So we kept on singing and we did it. So that's what we did on the last day of school. Everybody had their eyes on us. I closed my eyes and sang and sang. After awhile I wasn't scared or nervous. After that I wasn't afraid to sing in the talent show. So that was my adventure. Hope I do it this year with Miranda!

In school today we had math and learned about adding fractions. Well we knew how to add fractions; we just used a different algorithm. Then when the math kids came back from the other math classes, I went to orchestra while everyone else had snack. When I go to orchestra on Thursdays, I go from 10:00 a.m. til 10:45 a.m. Then the orchestra comes back and has to do a language paper.

After that we had to do a social studies paper on Egypt. When we were done with that we went to music and sang One Love by Bob Marley.

Later, after that, we went to recess, and I hung out with my friends. Then we came in to eat lunch. But the rest of the day was about learning. We did social studies and other things but that's all I have today.

My school is so cool. I have so much fun in school, but it sucks getting up so early. My school is Denali, my is teacher is Mr. Noon, and I'm in 6th grade. I love math and reading. My best friend is in my class. We have not gone on any field trips but Mr. Noon has some super cool ones planned. It has only been a quarter of the year but it has been so much fun. I can tell that when I leave I'm going to miss Denali and 6th grade.

Today I read The Guardians of Ga'hoole: The Capture. Its a great book. Today I read about Soren and Gylfie escaping from St. Aggie's home for orphan owls. Soren and Gylfie meet an owl named Grimble and he teaches them how to fly.

I can't wait to see what is next.

So, today at recess my friends, Destinee and Lousete, and I went to library. Destinee got on a computer (it was the only one that had photo booth). I was on my own computer until I heard Lousete laughing. I went over to Destinee and she was on photo booth. She was making her head BIG and then little. Haha. Then, in the background Taylor (the boy) was standing and he looked so funny! He looked fat hehe. Then we started taking pictures and there were like 26 that we took! It was funny. We were trying to share one chair... I almost fell off. Hehe. Anyways, it was really fun.

So this is about me, Sophia. Well my name is really Sophie, but for some reason everyone calls me Sophia. By the way, I like Sophie better. Anyways, I like to read a lot, and write.

I love music. I think it's what keeps me motivated.

I'm usually tired, but I cover it up with hyperness :)

I love Chinese food.

You know how most babies are born with a soft spot on their head? Well I didn't have one. Weird right? Anyways, I was born on September 27, but I was supposed to be born on October 6.

My friends mean the world to me. I would die for them. They amaze me everyday.

My favorite TV show is Adventure Time. The most amazing show in the world.

I love to swim, but I don't do it often because I'm embarrassed of my ears (I think they're big).

Climbing trees is really fun. It feels like no one can see me and I can spy on people.

My favorite color is pink. Or purple.

I love gummybears, and gir. I love hello kitty, rainbows, and unicorns.

I love love, love to write. Its fun... And I guess I'm good at it. Well, that's what people tell me. I think that's good, because if I didn't like something that I was good at then that would be a waste. People also tell me I'm good at softball, but I really don't like to play softball. And also basketball because of my long legs. But enough about that, this is supposed to be about writing. I like to write short stories. But in 4th grade my teacher, Mr. Keener, pushed me to write more often, so now I write all the time and I enjoy it because people enjoy it as well. I also love to type. Everybody thinks I'm really fast but I beg to differ. Anyways, this is about writing. So I love to write.

When you're playing with your friend and you guys laugh, it's called fun. I like having fun because I sometimes make up fun and funny games. One time on my birthday, I got to go swimming, and it was very fun. I like the excitement in fun because everyone is so energetic and happy. Sometimes I can imagine what it would be like if everyone was happy. After school and once I'm done with my homework, I usually play outside with my friends and have fun.

When I was younger I learned how to swim. It was hard at first but then it became fun. Well it became fun because when I learned how to swim I could go off the diving board.

After I learned how to swim I got on a swim team. Then when I was nine my relay team got second. It was so much fun.

Then I was on a field trip. I passed the test so I could go off the diving board. My friends dared me to go off the high dive and I did it and it was fun. I thanked my friend so much after that because if she did not dare me I wouldn't have gone off.

One day on Halloween a guy named Mike decided to trick or treat. So he went to a house, then knocked. A funny-looking man opened the door. Mike said, BOO! The funny looking man said,"That's not what you say." Then he slammed the door, SWOOSH...BANG! Mike thought you were supposed to say Boo. Then he remembered, you're supposed to say, "Bats."

Mike knocked again, the funny looking man opened the door. Mike said,"BATS." The funny-looking man said, "That's not it, either." Then he slammed the door, SWOOSH...BANG! Again, Mike thought bats was right. Then Mike said, "Ghosts, that's it."

So Mike knocked again. The funny looking man opened the door. Mike said,"Ghosts." The funny looking man said,"Ahhhhh you will never get it." Then he threw the candy bowl at Mike, and slammed the door, SWOOSH...BANG. So mike grabbed some candy, and left.

Everyone always asks me can I go to your house, my house is boring, but not me! At my house there is ALWAYS something to do because I live on a farm. On the farm there are horses, bunnies, geese and chickens. I can name all of the horses. Their names are Mystique, Ziggy, Blue Eyes, Gazia, Michah, Spice Man, Hawk, Maestroe, Premiere, Coffee (my horse), Chaznee, Scotch, Ember, Legacy, Bay Bay, Maddie, Colors, and Johnny. There are way too many bunnies to name and I have only named one chicken, mine. Her name is Amri. I haven't named any of the geese because they all look very similar to each other.

On October 31, 2011 it was Halloween. After school me, my brother Yofrani, and my cousin Angelina went home to go get our costumes on. Then we fixed our hair. Then we went to go trick or treating. We went to every house on 8th Ave. and on 7th Ave. Also we went to the Bentley Mall. I filled up 2 bags. My Brother filled up 1 bag, and my cousin filled 1 bag of candy. Not all of it was candy; some of it was pop corn and pretzels. We got home, and then my mom cooked dinner. Then we ate. After that my Mom let us eat some candy.

Then my Uncle Daniel and my Aunt Krystina and daughter Elysia, my Cousin, were coming over to the house. So my Aunt and her daughter walked in and my Uncle was not there so we asked my Aunt where he was, and she said he was not coming. Then we went to the dining room and he popped up from the window and his face was painted and he scared all of us, even my mom! And my mom says she never gets scared, but I guess she does.
