Why I'm not proud to be an Alaskan
I agree with people when they say that Alaska's boring. Man, it is. There's no beaches, no malls, no surfing, and it's so cold here that it’s like we live in igloos. I wrestle polar bears every day walking to school, and use penguins to sled down hills. The penguins tried to take over Alaska, but it didn't work, it was sort of like Lord of the Rings, but but ten times colder. I’m just kidding, but that would be cool. You can go hunting, fishing, and sledding. We have awesome lakes and woods to run in. The most beautiful times up here are fall and spring.
One more thing I don't like about this place is too many mountains. We don't use dog sleds, but there’s something called the Yukon Quest and the Iditarod that we do us them in. They're very long races. We have lots of wildlife. And the Carlson Center in Fairbanks is where we have all our big events.
I’m not really proud to be an Alaskan. I want to move to California or Hawaii. Those are a couple of my favorite places, and Greece. We have something called Murphy Dome, It’s up on a really high hill. It’s very beautiful up there. If someone wanted to settle down and live a quiet life, then come live here in Fairbanks. But if you like excitement, live somewhere else.
I am from California, but it is really not as exciting as you think. California, outside of big cities like LA and San Francisco, are probably similar to the same small towns up there. You are a good writer. Keep up the good work.
