The Magic Problem
One day I was at the park with my friend, Lisa, and we were going to go down the slide. As I stepped on to the slide, I saw a necklace. I recognized it. It was my friend Abby's. She lived next door to me.
I told Lisa, "We should bring it to her house to return it to her after we are done at the park." She agreed.
The necklace had a locket that was shaped like a bottle. The bottle was green with little gold specks. I opened it up....and a genie popped out of it.
He was very weird looking. He had green pants that were way too big for him, pointy shoes that looked like they could poke someone's eye out, and a green shirt that was way too small. He had a piercing on every part of his body, from head to toe.
The genie said, "I am a genie, and I am here to grant you three wishes."
I was confused. "Why me," I asked. "This is not even my necklace."
"WELL IT IS YOURS NOW BECAUSE YOU OPENED THE BOTTLE," he screamed.
"Well I will not use any of the wishes because it is not my necklace so I do not deserve these three wishes." I said.
"Well I am afraid that can not happen because if you do not use these wishes in the next two hours, then you will be cursed for the rest of your life."
I looked at Lisa. Her mouth was wide open and it looked like her jaw was going to fall off.
"What kind of curse?" She asked.
"The curse is that you will have to be a genie and deal with selfish kids like you for the rest of your life."
"What? I am not selfish." I said
"That is what you think." He said. "So if you are not going to take the wishes then just tell me now so we can get this genie initiation away with. You know we have to fill out all of that paperwork..."
I pulled Lisa a few feet away. "Get out your phone and call Abby. Tell her we found her necklace at the park. Don't tell her about the genie or the three wishes."
"Ok," she said
As soon as she got there, the genie threw a fit. " YOU ONLY HAVE 1 MORE HOUR TILL THE CURSE KICKS IN."
"What is he talking about?" said Abby.
"We opened the locket and he popped out," I said.
"And If we do not make wishes inside of the next hour, he is going to turn us into genies," Lisa said.
"Well there is three of us now so why don't we all make one wish each?" Abby asked.
"It is your necklace so I think you should use the three wishes," I said.
"Ok," Abby said.
"I wish for ten million dollars," Abby said.
"And," said the genie.
"Enough wishes to have three a day for the rest of my life," Abby said.
"And to be with my two best friends for the rest of my life," Abby said as she pointed to us.
"Well there goes my three wishes," The genie said as he was sucked into the ground. And he was never seen again.
"I am glad that is over," Lisa said.
"Me too," I said.
" Lets go shopping with my ten million dollars," Abby said.
" Ok," we said.
And that was the solution to the magic problem.
