Small Steps
By Louis Sachar
The book I am reading is Small Steps by Louis Sachar. This book is about a boy named Theodore with a nickname, Armpit. He was released from a prison two years ago called Camp Green Lake. That is where he met his friend X-ray. X-ray is always getting into trouble.
This is what the story is about. X-ray convinces Theodore to buy 24 Kiara Deleon tickets and sell all of them. (Kiara Deleon is a famous singer in this story.) After selling 22 tickets Theodore asks for two tickets back but X-ray thought if he copied two of them and gave Theodore the fake tickets and sold the real ones he could still get money. Once Theodore and his neighbor Ginny, got to the concert a body guard found they were fake tickets. He tried to arrest him. A couple of seconds later, Ginny had a seizure. That made things worse because they thought he gave her bad stuff but the the mayor of the town thought he was telling the truth. Kiara Deleon felt so bad for the them she invited them backstage to watch the show.
Kiara Deleon really liked Theodore. She invited him to stay at a hotel. (This is where my scene takes place) When Theodore heard a lamp break, he finds Kiara Deleon passed out, her body guard stabbed, and her manager swinging at him with a bat. The bodyguard managed to trip the manager for Theodore to get him. Theodore was glad to get home, go back to work, and save all his money. He says he is taking Small Steps.
This is one of my favorite books. The part with the broken lamp was kind of scary to read and it was also sad but it was still a good book. In the story it was kind of a cliff hanger but I recommend it to every one.
