The Austere Academy by Lemony Snicket

The book I chose was “The Austere Academy” by Lemony Snicket. This is the fifth book of the series. I chose this book because I’ve been reading the series and it has been really good. I expected this one would be good too.

In the book the Baudelaire children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny have to go to a boarding school named Prufrock Preparatory School. At the school they meet kids named the Quagmire Triplets but there is only of them because the third one and their parents died in a fire. They also have a fortune like the Budelaires. The Quagmire’s first names are Duncan and Isadora. When they are at school, the school gets a new gym teacher who is actually Count Olaf but he says his name is Coach Genghis. Count Olaf is a nasty guy that has been chasing the Baudelaires since the second book to get their fortune.

One Day when the Quagmires and the Baudelaires were having lunch this really mean girl came up to them and says, “Hey you cake sniffers Coach Genghis says the Baudelaires must report to me at the front lawn after dinner. Then one day Nero told the Baudelaires to meet him in his office after lunch. The Baudelaires told the Quagmires about an exam they had to take, and the Quagmires said, “What if we run for you tonight so you can study and make staples for Sunny? ”What if you get caught?” the Baudelaires said.

That night the Baudelaires studied hard and made staples while the Quagmires ran. The Baudlaires had been flunking their class and the Quagmires ran for them because Coach Genghis has been making them run for the past nine days until the crack of dawn. The next Morning they were doing good on there exam until Coach Genghis came to the shack where they were taking the exam.

Mr. Poe is in charge of the Baudelaire’s money, and in finding them a new guardian if something happens. When Mr. Poe walked in the door he heard that the kids will be expelled. Then Coach Genghis ( Who is Count Olaf ) and Mr. Poe and Nero had a big argument and then Coach Genghis got away with Quagmires. The Baudelaires almost saved them, and that’s how the story ended.

I thought that the book was really good and I recommend you to read it. In my diorama the kids are running while Coach Genghis watches. The circle on the ground is the glow in the dark paint they had to paint and that’s were they had to run. The building in the corner is the school. That's my diorama and my book report. I hope you liked it.
