The Report Card

By Malynda - Posted on 21 November 2007

The Book I choose is called “The Report Card by Andrew Clements.” In this book there is a girl named Nora. On her report card she got all “D's” except one “C” in spelling. Her friend Stephen was worried about her grades. He kept saying they were the wrong grades.

Nora knew they weren't the wrong grades. In fact she wanted to get all “D's.” She got those grades because she wanted to show people that grades didn't matter. Nora was a genius but she didn't tell anyone. But the Mrs.Byrne found out she was a genius. She found this out because she looked at the computer in the library that Nora uses and she was researching on stuff that a normal 5th grader wouldn't be researching on. So then Nora tells the teachers and the kids in her school find out. So the plan of her not telling any one she is a genius is wrecked. So Stephen and Nora got a new plan. The plan is to have the 5th graders in the school to get zeros on at least two of their test.

I chose this book because my friends read it and they said I should read it to. I liked this book and I would recommend it. I think that she really had to be a genius to keep her secret, because she had to think about how many questions to miss on every test to get a average score. I have read a book by this author and it was really good. It was called “The School Story.” I think I will read more books by Andrew Clements too.
