Ancient Egypt
This week we have been learning about ancient Egypt. We have to make a 3-D map of Egypt. I learned that in Egypt the kings try to take over the bottom of Egypt and the top of Egypt. One thing that I thought was crazy was when I saw that the top of Egypt was the bottom of Egypt and the lower part of Egypt was the top of Egypt. Well I would like to talk more but I need to go learn more about Egypt.

I loved reading your expression describing how the top of Egypt is the bottom. I am Egyptian living in Egypt and I remember as a student how I got confused when I first learnt the term "Upper Egypt" which actually lies in South Egypt. Perhaps to resolve this issue one could just use the term "North" when referring to places in Egypt such as Alexandria and using the term "South" when referring to parts of Egypt such as Aswan.
As for the term Upper Egypt it was coined to refer to South Egypt because the land of Egypt is higher at the South and gradually decreases in height as it becomes nearer to the North of Egypt till it finally reaches the shores of the Mediterranean sea. If it was not for this downwards slope from the South to the North the River Nile would have never flown in Egypt and as a result the Ancient Egyptian civilization might have never existed.
I am looking forward to reading more about what you are studying about Ancient Egypt.
