The parent teacher conference

By Derick - Posted on 02 November 2007

At parent teacher conferences we had to talk to our teachers about how we are doing in school for the first quarter of school. My little brother Xavier was first to go talk to his teacher (that would be Ms. Harmon). When we made it to his class, my brother Eric and I had to look for my lost hat and gloves in the lost and found. We had only found one of my gloves in the lost and found. When we had gotten done we had went to Xavier’s class. We waited until my mom sat down at the table and at that time Eric had gotten me a cookie from the lobby. Then we heard mom talking to Mrs. Harmon about his grades. She had said,” Xavier is doing great in school.” Then after a while mom had finished talking to her and we had to leave the classroom.

When it was time to go to my brother’s (Eric) class. I got another cookie while we walked up the stairs. When we had gotten to Ms. Hoffman’s class and my mom had taken a seat at Eric’s desk. Then we had to stand by the window. We saw Eric grab something out of a box. He said it was a puzzle that was for a book report. Then when we had seen something on the wall. There was a whole bunch of posters on the wall. Then my mom had gotten done with the conference with Mrs. Hoffman’s class.

Now we head to Mr. Noon class to get my result of how I’m doing in the first quarter .The teacher said that I could be doing better then we talked about my math and said to take my stuff home .

That was a great story.

This is a good story about your conferences. I'm glad that you took the time to write it. But there are a couple of things that I'm curious about now. I'd like to know more about the puzzle for the book report that you mentioned. The posters on the wall, why did you tell about them. I think it would be good to hear more about them, since you mention them. I can't imagine what they look like. Please explain what they are about, and how they look. One of the best parts of any conference this was when you read your stories from your writing notebook. Thank you very much for that. You are a good writer. (I hope you got your math done.) :)
