The Dissection

By Danny - Posted on 30 October 2007

Yesterday me and my class dissected a pig. When we got started the science teacher tied the pig to the tray and cut it open with a scalpel. After that he spread the skin apart.

He started showing us the organs. We got to touch them and poke them I learned that a pig heart is very strong and small.

When he opened the bag that it was in it smelled really bad. I think it was the chemicals in the bag. Then he washed it off and did all the things I mentioned above. There was another girl like the science teacher that did the same things so more of us could see it. And after that we all got to poke it. It was really fun to poke it.

After that we all got to go back to our seats and write about it and that's what I’m doing right now as I’m sitting at my desk and writing about a dead pig. Crazy, isn't it? What I learned that day is that dead pig does not smell good.

I have never dissected a pig but I'm sure that it smells very very bad. In Mr. Noon's fourth grade high schoolers came and my group dissected a squid! But, it probably didn't smell half as bad as a pig!

Dear Danny, I have touched owl puke! It was really gross. Luckily I had gloves. Not the kind you wear on your hand to keep warm, but kind you use to touch food and stuff. Although this time it was owl puke!
