Museum of the North
This week my class went on a field trip to the Museum of the North. When we got there the class was divided up into 4 groups, in those groups we learned the different types of art besides just paintings, some of those different types of art were things like sound, real photograph, wood,an art can even be made out of and buildings! I think that the coolest kind of art that I experienced was sound! I had never thought of sound being art. People that make music are called composers.
The composer to the sound we were listening to was named John Luther Adams. We went into this room that is called "The place were you go to Listen" and they had us sit and listen to all these different sounds and when we talked about it they told us that they were coming from signals around the University campus that measure things that are happening in the environment like the amount of wind or sun light, and it even measures earthquakes. Then when they put all the sounds together it sounds like music.
Later that day when we were back at school our teacher had put us with another student in the class to interview them on what they thought about the field trip to the museum. My partner was Tristan and he said he had fun because had fun because he got to discover new art work and new information. Then I asked him what part of the field trip did he not like, and he said having to listen to the tour guides for so long. Last I asked him what his favorite piece of art was, and he said it was the one called the "The next generation of Berry Picking".
That was mostly all that happened at the museum. I hope to go back there on another field trip again !!!
