The Sea Shells Of Marco Island
"Hey Jake!" I turned around. My mom was standing with her camera in hand ready to fire! I mean she's always ready to fire or take your picture. I looked right into the small orb that projects the flash. I heard a click and the camera was done.
"Good one, Jake!" she said grinning. My dad and brother looked at mom with annoyance. Or at least my dad did, my brother just was sitting there looking like he was from a different planet or something. His emerald eyes were alive with oddness and happiness. when they looked down to a large and glorious sand castle, Emerald Eyes had pleaded dad to build one for him.
My mom was somewhere getting lame photographs of warm Florida to take back to cold Fairbanks. I decided to walk around the beach. I was looking for seashells to take back to my class in cold Fairbanks.
It was that hour and that time of day when things happened. I had stumbled across a rouge transparent shell. I picked it up and looked at it carefully. It looked like it was from one of those strange alien movies that people find weird stuff, That's how I felt. This see-through shell was sitting in the palm of my hand. I have never ever ever in all my years (I'm only twelve) seen a seashell such as that one.
Well those shells were certainly magnificent. I think it's lame but their are restrictions on how many seashells you can take each day. I don't really see the need for the rationing of seashells, I mean they're only seashells. A place called Collier County restricts people of taking live shells from the island shores and beaches.
This is done so they can preserve the animals. I personally think most seashells are very nice. The beaches of Marco Island are shell central, having billions of seashells. If you like seashells then you should probably head to Marco Island, Florida. You won't be disappointed!
