Going To The Fair
It was a beautiful day at the Tanana State Fair. It was around August I would say. I love going to the fair and I usually don't have fun without a friend by my side. I had my little friend, Anthony with me. He was about 6 at the time and we were going on rides together. We had to go on some kid rides because Anthony was too young to go on the older rides that I like to go on. One ride that we went on was... well, I forgot what it was called, but we had to sit in a apple and we had to try to twirl it around.
It was kinda like the tilt-a-whirl. I had some fun but Anthony was screaming with glee. After that ride he wanted to go on the giant purple slide with me but I thought it wasn't gonna be as much fun as it was when I was younger. He didn't make me go on it though.
After we went on a few rides we went to the animal barn where we can pet the animals. Anthony had to go back with his mother so I just walked around the barn with my mom. We went in a couple barns. I wanted to go in the one with the bunnies and the goats. I got there just in time to see a cute little baby lamb that had just been born 4 hours earlier. A lot of people were all around his cage so I had to squeeze my way through to be able to see it. I stayed there for a while to watch it until a big family walked over and then I just walked away because the little kids were jumping all over the place about the baby lamb. Then we went to the barn with the cows and the pigs.
It smelled horrifying. I ran right out of there. I didn't want to lose my nose. There was a cow outside the barn that didn't smell as bad. I went over to look at that one. It was right next to the cage so I could pet it. Then it mooed at me. It startled me so I kinda made a scream. It was a loud moo!!! I left that cow and then walked in the petting zoo. They used to have kittens but not anymore. I had to go outside to tie my shoe because it was crowded in there.
I had to stop and tie my shoe when I heard a familiar voice. It sounded like my old best friend Savannah. She wasn't going back to school when school started and I have not seen her in a long time. We talked to each other and then we went on a ride. We went on the... APOLLO!!!! It was the second most scariest ride in the whole fair. I got scared just looking up at it and I felt a little sick. She made me go on and I was so nervous because they don't strap you in all the way so you go up when you are upside down. I had my eyes closed the whole time. Except for when I opened them to make sure I didn't fly off the ride. I totally forgot that Savannah was there. When I was upside down, I opened my eyes and I saw a light of the top of peoples' heads. At least I didn't throw up. I was so dizzy when I walked off the ride. It was brutal but I had some fun. I vowed to never go on that ride ever again. Me and Savannah said our goodbyes and promised to keep in touch.
