Number the Stars
Me and my class read the story Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. It was a good book, at least I thought it was good. When I started reading it I didn't like it, but now I think the book is awesome! The book's about a girl named Annemarie and her friend Ellen. They lived during World War 2.
It was really bad at the time because there was no butter, barely any meat, and no leather. Since there was no leather, Kirsti, Annemarie's little sister, had to have her shoes made of fish skins. Back in the time there were solders everywhere.
Because Annemarie's friend was a Jew, they had to take Ellen and her family to safety. When they took Ellen to safety they went to the country to stay with uncle Henrik (Annemarie's uncle). When Annemarie and Ellen lived there, they had a death, but it was a fake death. They did a fake death because they knew that the Nazies would come to see why so many people were gathering together, so that's why they pretended a death.
At the end they took Ellen and her family where they can stay. If you would like to, you can see what it was like, or if you want to check out the book, read Number the Stars.
I hope you like this book as much as me.
Ya. I didn't like that book much until I read more. It was a great book by a great author. Good Job! You described that book very well!
