The Roller Coaster

By Icee - Posted on 11 November 2009

When I went to North Carolina, my dad and my family went to Bush Gardens; that's a Roller Coaster place. I got over my fear of heights that day, and this is my story.

So last summer my dad and I went to North Carolina. My dad's family lives there. We had to take a plane from Alaska to New York; it was a 12 hour flight. I was asleep the whole time! When we landed in New York we had to get a renter car and drive all the way down to North Carolina; it took two days I was asleep the whole time in the car for the first day. We stopped and went to a hotel on the first night. I was wide awake, since I had slept the whole day. But I managed to go to sleep for six hours. Then it was time to go on the road.

We were off really early at, like, 5:30 in the morning. I was asleep for 5 hours, then woke up and was talking to my dad about how he can stay wake for so long. I was so excited when I woke up to see that we only had only 300 more miles to go. I ended up sleeping for 3 more hours. When I woke up we were only 1 mile away from my Aunt Lane's and Uncle Frank's house.

All together, I slept 26 hours. That is 1 day, 2 hours, if I did the math right. You do the math. Did I do it right? What's your answer?

The night when we got to my Aunt Lane and Uncle Frank's house all my family came over to see my dad and I. The first person I saw was Peter. Peter is my cousin. He is very lanky. (Lanky means tall and thin.) He weighs like less than me!!! Ha, ha that was a joke, but really he is really skinny.

The next person I saw was Ciren; he is my cousin, too. He is 13 years old; only one year older than me. He has braces and is pretty tall, I guess. The next person I saw was Robby. He is 13 years old, just like Ciren, but he is the opposite of lanky. He is very chubby. I can't remember the other people I saw. I have at least 60 people on my dad's side of the family, and most of them are boys. I only have 7 or 8 girls in the family. I usually hang with the boys, though.

We had a fire going outside, and Ciren and Robby got in a fight (it was just a play fight kind of thing). Ciren won because he is better and stronger than Robby. It was so funny.

I was yelling, "Robby, just give up. Ciren is going to win."

"Rose, come do the countdown," Ciren said, when he was on top of Robby.

I was like "3 1/2, 3, 2 1/2, 2, 1 1/2, 1, ZERO....Ciren wins the fight; he is the champion.

It was fun to see everyone again. After the fight was over it was time for bed. It was 11:30 at night!!

So the next morning I got up at 9:30 and went downstairs and got some breakfast said "hi" to some people. I played Speed with Ciren. He won most of the time. (Speed is a card game.) I played Robby, and he sucks at Speed.

Later everyone else woke up and everyone got breakfast and got ready to go to Bush Gardens. Bush Gardens is a really cool roller coaster place with lots of rides. There is like 10 in all.

So when we got there, we waited in line for about 15 minutes just to get in. It was boring, so I wanted to eavesdrop on Robby's conversation.

"I am only going to go on three," Robby said.

"You are so scared, baby," yelled Ciren. I laughed so hard; Ciren is so funny. We finally got tickets. We were in. Right when we got in my dad decided to go onto the most terrifying ride,"The Griffon," it was very fast and had the longest line ever.

When we where in line I was talking about how scared I was a-afraid of heights. What am I going to do? What do you think I should do?

"Dad, I don't want to go on the ride anymore," I whined to my dad.

"We are going on it, Icee, the next ride you can pick," he answered.

"Fine, but I won't like it; I am going to be so mad at you," I answered in a very mad voice.

So we were one person away from getting on the ride. Then I see them take off going up the hill really slow and when they were at the top they stopped for 30 seconeds, then they took off down the roller coaster really fast. The roller coaster is very fast and exciting.

Then the person said, Next in line, please... That was me. I was in the middle of all four rows of chairs. I was in the seat ready to get off and never get back on, but my dad wouldn't let me.

My dad said, "Icee, are you scared?"

I answered with a scared voice, "Duh, I am scared."

When we where done talking I noticed that we were at the top going around a corner; at the other end there was a very very long drop. So in a minute later we stopped right over the drop!! they let us look at the drop for 30 seconds and then without warning we dropped about a mile at a less then 90 degeer angle at almost 90 miles per hour. My face was puled back and I looked totally ugly. I was totally thinking about puking in another minute or so the ride was over. When i got off the ride i could bearly walk i even ran into some people.

The only thing I was thinking was lets go on it againn so me and my dad went on it three more times it was so awesome the third time. I loved that ride it was the most exciting and amazing ride I have ever been on.

I got over my fea-aaar of heights, the second time around when i look over the corner i was scared but it was so awesome. I didn't puck at all on the exciting but scary ride.
