What it's Like to be a Fly on a Wall
Being a fly on a wall means to observe and take notes of your surroundings. My teacher would drop us off all around the school to take notes. In all the places I was in it was never quiet. There were doors creaking, basketballs bouncing, kids talking, and you hear footsteps everywhere. It can get boring, but something's always happening. A lot of kids are talking and using the bathroom; there is always something to see and hear. I like to watch where people are going and see what's happening in other classrooms.
One time I was outside the 1st grade class. Boy, it was never quiet! Kids were talking, screaming, and crying non-stop, and across the hall the door opened every 10 seconds; it got annoying. I was also seeing what was happening in the 3rd grade class. They weren't doing too much. They were coloring and their teacher was reading a book to them. I thought they were lucky It looked like a good book.
I was also listening to what kids were talking about. I was also surprised that kids would come up to me and ask if I was in trouble. All I told them was that I was a fly on a wall. They didn't know what I was talking about and walked away. And also some teachers asked the same thing. It was funny. I didn't know that the teachers knew, but I smiled at a teacher, and she said that flies on walls don't smile.
It's fun being a fly on a wall. It lets you hear and see stuff you've never noticed. My class has done it three times and it's always fun.
