This will probably be my last on tell the raven. I have been writing stories, writing comment on other peoples good stories. I don't mean to brag, but I have written over 50 stories on this website! Whenever I can't think of something to write, I comment on other stories. I think that all my classmates are very good writers! I will miss writing in this website. I will miss all my teachers, all the fun I had with my friends. Some of my friends are going to different middle schools! I will miss sledding on the hill in winter. I will miss recess! I will miss EVERYTHING!

Goodbye! `

There are a lot of junk just floating around space. Broken satellites, destroyed rocket bodies, human waste, and a glove that was left behind by astronaut ED White during his spacewalk in 1965. I think that it is cool how many random things are floating around space. But I wonder how all that trash got in space. Did it fall out of a satellite or something? Did it float away from someone? Maybe you can help me by answering those questions if you know the answers!

Today we watched a video about ancient Rome!
I am going to tell the story of Romulus and Remus in my own words.

Romulus and Remus were born with a father that was worried that they would steel the throne from him. So Romulus and Remus was ordered to be killed. They were drowned but a mother wolf saved them and nursed them until they were old enough to take care of themselves. When they were older, Romulus killed Remus. His own brother! So that self Romulus being the first king. They named the city Rome in his honor.

I think it was terrible how their father wanted to kill then just so they wouldn't take his throne. I also think it was horrid that Romulus killed his own brother so that he could take the throne! I thought it was amazing how he mother wolf took care of Romulus and Remus!

Space junk is piles and piles of trash that is spread all across space and Earth. Scientist say that the space junk in space is posing a threat to space activities. They also say that they is becoming necessary to remove some of the space junk. National Geographic says: "Since the launch of the Soviet Union's Sputnik I satellite in 1957, humans have been generating space junk."

Last week, my class went to the University Of Alaska Fairbanks! I thought it was really fun! There was only two things I didn't like about that field trip! I didn't feel so good because of my allergies! I have been outside too much. I also didn't like how the lunch room was so crowded. There was way too much people in there. Lots of kids from all different school. I had a headache just walking around. I did enjoy the food though!

I had some french fries and I had some ice cream. I got the last scoop before the ice cream machine broke down! I got signatures from...some people. I didn't really know who they were; I just saw a lot of people getting their autographs, so I thought I would get in line to get them too!

Before that we were cutting open a cow heart! I felt really sick after that. Plus I felt sick before that so that wasn't to much fun for me.

Then, we walked up this really steep hill. It seemed like forever but we finally made it to the top! We took a break on some benches then we started to walk again. We went to this building; then we entered a classroom! We learned about what kind of career we want when we grow up! I want to be a vet. There was all different kinds of careers that different people wanted. I was surprised.

After that, we went to go see what a dorm was like. I loved the dorm. It was nicely decorated and it was pretty cute! I thought it was pretty cool!

Finally, we walked back to meet the buses! That was quite a crazy day and I'm glad I made it throughout the day.

Today, a member of the Harlem Globetrotters came to our school! The player that came to visit us is Dizzy Grant. He is #2. He showed us a lot of tricks and many things about teamwork and responsibility! I thought that it was really nice of him to come and see us!

When sixth grade began, I hadn't done much reading over the summer. I have grown as a reader because we read everyday after lunch for about 30 minutes. I have learned so much from books. I think books are a great way to learn about many different subjects. I have read many books by R.L Stine. I think his books are fun to read because his books have no pictures and they are really good for using your imagination. I'm reading the Twilight Saga right now and they are by Stephenie Meyer!

She has 4 very well written books that I have enjoyed reading. She also has a book called "The Host" that I look forward to reading!

In class, we are learning about and building rockets! I had a really fun time building and learning about rockets! At first, I thought that building the rockets were really difficult but as we went on with the project, I thought it was fun and easy! When I finished my rocket, I helped a few people with theirs. I thought the funnest part was when we were painting the rockets. I have a lot of smiley faces on mine!
We also watched some videos about rockets. My teacher, Mr. Noon, told the class about a teacher who won a contest to go into space. She went to training and learned all about the risks of going into space. She was in the rocket, ready for lift-off. 5-4-3-2-1...BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! The rocket blew up and every one that was in it died. I thought that that was a very sad event. I think that going into space would be very scary. I don't know how anybody could do it!

A couple weeks ago, I got two mice with my dad. My dad wanted to feed them to the cat but the mice were kind of cute so I didn't let him. They are both white. I got a boy and a girl! My friend Odyssey was with me when we bought them and we wanted to name them. We named the girl Sparkles and the boy Cheese! I keep them in a drawer at my house. Khaki tries to get them but he couldn't.

I made a maze for them. They take about two minutes to finish it but they are good at it. When we got then, Cheese bit me once and peed on Odyssey twice. HAHA! Sparkled pooped on my mom and me. But I was wearing gloves when she did it so I didn't really care. I still take care of them. Khaki is going to get bigger and that means I have to move the mice. Because Khaki is too small to get to them now.

Last Sunday, I got a new kitten, and it's a boy. I named hm Khaki because he is light brown. First, I named him Cinnamon, but I didn't really like that name.

He is so cute. I think that he is a little too cute. He is very playful but sometimes he'll claw you a lot. Last night he kept running around and making noise when I was trying to sleep. I tried to count sheep but Khaki kept making noise. He kept clawing me in a face and is really hurt.

I let him go but then he ran up to me and clawed me in the eye. It hurt very much. I had to put him in his cage so he would calm down. He is very lovable and whenever you pet him or pick him up, he will start purring! Whenever I get a picture of him I wanted to put it on this website so that you all can see his cuteness!

I am a Brazilian gold frog and I am the smallest frog in the world. I am known to be smaller than a dime! I enjoy being tiny because I'm good at hiding in very small places.

Being tiny is very hard, but it can be fun at times. I like to play hide and seek with my friends. Most of my friends are bigger than me, so it takes then a while to find me. I like to find my friends but I find then real easily. I like going to the lake and having a nap on a Lily Pad. I also like going for a long swim. It relaxes me!

That's what my life would be like if I was the tiniest frog in the world. Tinier then a dime!

This is a story about the day that I found a magic wand.

I just got dropped off on the way to school when I saw something on the ground. I walked over to it and I could see that it was a magic wand! It was purple with pink polka dots on it. I jumped for joy! I didn't know what to do first. First, I decided to wait till school was over to use it. So I waited for 6 whole hours.

After school I told my mom that I was going to go visit a friend's house.

"OK. Be home at 8:00," my mom said.

I agreed to that, and started walking to my friend, Odyssey's house. I knocked on the door and her mother answered.

"Oh hello, Arianna," she greeted me.

"Hi, is Odyssey here?" I asked.

"Yes. She is in her room. You know where that is right?" she said.

"Yes thank you."

I ran to Odyssey's room and shut the door behind me. I walked over to Odyssey.

"Hi Arianna. What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I found something at school today." I said.

"Really? What?" She asked.

"I think it's a magic wand." I told her.

I actually kind of yelled it. She looked at me like I was crazy. "I'm not joking." I said.

"OK. Where is it?" she looked at my backpack.

I got it out and showed it to her. She snatched it away from me. "WHOA! That is a magic wand!"

I snatched it back. "Be careful. I don't want you to break it without even using it."

Odyssey had a history of breaking stuff. Last week, she was at my house and she broke my moms' favorite 800 dollar vase! My mom is making her pay for it. Odyssey only gave her 5 bucks so far. Last year, Odyssey broke the goldfish tank in 5th grade. Just yesterday, Odyssey broke my phone and now I don't want her to break the happiest thing that has happened to me this week.

"Let's use it" she was very excited.

"What are we going to use it for first though?" I asked.

She thought for about 5 minutes and then she finally said something. "We should go back in time for when that time I crashed my dad's car. He's still very mad at me," she suggested.

Two years ago, Odyssey's dad let Odyssey steer the car for a little while and Odyssey sneezed, which made her crash the car into a tree. Odyssey's dad is still pretty upset. I don't get why he doesn't just buy another car. He's a very good lawyer who gets a lot of money. "I guess so.

I told the wand to send us to June 5th, 2007, the day that Odyssey crashed her dad's car.

WHOOSH, WHOOSH! The wand started to vibrate and then before we knew it, we were in an old cabin.

"It worked! YIPPEE!" She laughed.

I looked around. I could tell we were in Odyssey's old room. We walked outside.

"I have to hide. I wasn't here when it all happened. Your dad is going to wonder what I'm doing here." I hid under Odyssey's bed.

"Right. I'll be outside not crashing my dads car." I heard Odyssey walk downstairs.

10 minutes later, she was walking back upstairs. "I didn't crash the car. Woohoo! Now my daddy won't get mad at me." She jumped up and down.

"I'm sure your dad forgave you. You are his daughter." I said. She smiled.

"Where are we going to go next?" she asked.

"I have always wanted to see the underwater world of Atlantis," I told Odyssey.

"Is that place even real?" she asked.

"Of course it is. My mom said so. Plus I read a book on it and the book was 100% true," I said.

"Let's go!" I told the wand where I wanted to go and we were there in about 5 seconds. I couldn't breath all of a sudden. I was in total pitch blackness. I looked around for Odyssey but I couldn't see her. I couldn't see anything! Then I opened my mouth to scream her name, when I was breathing. I could breath underwater! Then I couldn't feel my legs. I looked down and instead of a pair of legs, I saw a blue fin! With scales! I screamed at the top of my lungs. I was a mermaid!

"Arianna!"I hear Odyssey screaming my name.

"Odyssey, where are you!" I screamed back.

"I don't know!" I started to follow her voice when I felt something touch my arm. I screamed.

"Arianna it's me." Odyssey said.

"Oh." I saw her.

"Where are we?" She looked around.

"I think we are in the ocean." I answered. Then I heard her scream.

"What!" I screamed.

"I have a green fin! AHHH!"

I looked down at her fin .

"Me too."I said. She looked at mine.

"Oh. I thought it was just me."

She calmed down.

"We have to find our way out of here." I said.

"I know." I started to swim. I made it a little ways but Odyssey's screaming made me stop.

"Arianna I don't know how to swim!" she yelled.

"Oh no." I swam over to her and pulled her along with me.

"We need to get to the surface." I started to swim up.

"But I thought you wanted to see Atlantis?" Odyssey said.

"I know but I don't know where it is. We are in Pitch blackness here."

I looked around. I had forgotten whitch way was up.

"I'm sure we can find it. Didn't it sit where it was in your book?" she asked.

"Yes I think it said something about Atlantis being at the bottom of the ocean." I thought a little longer. "Yes that's what it said.

"Okay then swim down." she said.

I started to swim down. As I did I could see a little light coming up. Finally, I got to the bottom. The bottom was so beautiful. There was fish everywhere; seaweed, starfish. I loved it.

Then I saw someone at the corner of my eye. I turned around and there was another mermaid there staring at me and Odyssey.

"Who are you?" she asked us.

"I'm Odyssey. And this is Arianna. What's your name?" Odyssey asked.

She looked at us for a couple seconds.

"My name is Rosalie. What are you doing here? I hadn't seen you guys here before."

She looked at our fins. "Those look brand new. Where did you get them?" she asked.

"We found a magic wand and we came here. Arianna wanted to see Atlantis," Odyssey blurted out.

She looked at me. "If I show you Atlantis, then will you leave?" she asked. She has asked a lot of questions but only half of then we have answered.

"Yes. Right after you show us." I said.

"Follow me," she started to swim. "I grabbed Odyssey's arm and pulled her after her. It took a long time. On our way there I saw a dolphin.

"Oh look." I pointed to it. Rosalie swam over to it. She grabbed the fin and the dolphin swam away. Two other dolphins showed up. I grabbed the fin of one, and Odyssey grabbed the fin of another. They started swimming really fast.

"Whoa!" Odyssey said.

We had caught up to Rosalie and then the dolphins started to slow down. I hopped off and started to follow Rosalie.

"Ahem! Arianna! You forgot something." Odyssey said.

I swam over to Odyssey, grabbed her arm and pulled her. Then that's when I saw it - Atlantis City. My mouth went open and my mouth started to hurt.

"Whoa! That's a big City." Odyssey said.

Then Rosalie started to push us away.

"You saw it, now leave," she said.

"What?" I asked.

"You can't stay here. Go."

"Why?" I asked.

"LEAVE!" She yelled.

"Okay, okay. We're leaving."

I gave her a look. I told the magic wand to bring us back to Odyssey's house.

I looked down at my legs and the slimy fin was gone. I looked around for Odyssey. She had landed in the closet.

I looked at the wand. "This wand is awesome but..." I stopped.

"What are you thinking about?"

The past week or so, The weather outside has been very warm. For some people that can be a bad thing or a good thing. It can be bad because some people like the cold and like to go sledding on hills. If it's warm, the snow will melt and you won't be able to sled on hills. Some people aren't used to the cold and like it to be warm. I like the warm. But I don't mind the cold too. So if you like the warm weather you should go outside and go for a walk or take a jog.

I know I wrote about Garfield before but that was before I

If I had 1 airline ticket to go anywhere in the world, I would go to L.A. because there are a lot of parks and I might meet a celebrity! Plus it is always nice and sunny and I would go to Beverly Hills. I hear it is really nice there.

I would go shopping at all the shopping malls. I would also go to the beach and play in the water! I would go to some of the amusement park and go on the rollercoasters.

I would try my best to meet a celebrity! If I were to choose a celebrity to meet, It would be Mike Meyers from Austin Powers. He is also the voice of Shrek. Did you know that? He played 2 characters in the first Austin Powers movie and 3 characters in the second Austin Powers movie. And L.A. is where I would go if I could go anywhere in the world with 1 airline ticket.

I am pretty tall and I love donuts. My favorite donuts are chocolate ones. I would say I'm lazy because I don't get enough sleep, but I'm pretty sure I would be tired anyway. I like to organize lots of things - my room, my desk, and other stuff. I don't like to talk much, but when I do, my voice gets really quiet.

I am forgetful because if you tell me something, there's a
99% chance I'll forget what you said. I love to read and I am a fast reader. I've probably read 900 books since the time that I could read. I like to eat yummy food but I am very picky. I don't like it when different foods touch at all. GROSS! I love the french fries at Wendy's. They make the best french fries in the whole state. My favorite meal is breakfast. You know what they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

Adelie Penguins feed on tiny aquatic creatures such as shrimp-likekrill, Fish, and squid. Once on land, they build nest with small stones. When the female has a egg, the parents take turns sitting on it and make sure that it stays warm. During the Spring breeding season in October, they take to the Rocky Antarctic coastline were they live in communities called colonies.

The Adelie Penguin is a bird, and they are carnivorous. They can live up to 20 years. Their weight is 8.5 to 12 lbs.

Aardvarks live in Africa and South of Sahara. The Aardvarks name means "Earth Pig". The Aardvarks have Bunny-like ears and a Kangaroo-tail. But the Aardvarks are not related to any of those animals. The Aardvark spends their days underground and their nights putting their claws to good use. Hunting for their favorite food...Termites.

The Aardvark closes their nostrils so bugs can't get in and their thick skin protects the Aardvark from bites. The female Aardvarks gives birth to 1 newborn each year. The baby stays with the mother for 6 months and then they start digging their own burrows.

The Aardvark is a mammal and they are omnivores. Their average life span in captivity is 23 years. Weighs up to 110-180 lbs. Greece is a much harder place to live than Egypt because the soil is not that good and there is sometimes not enough water to grow plants or food. Not a lot of people lived there until much later. There was some real settlement around 55,000 BC. That was 57,000 years ago! Wow! Greek History was divided into a Stone Age, a Bronze Age, and a Iron Age. Tarantulas are very scary because they have hairy, long legs! The venom from a tarantula is actually weaker then from a bee sting. Tarantulas walk slow on their 8 hairy legs and insects are their main prey but they can also hunt down larger game like frogs, toads, and mice.

The Tarantula lives in the ground and there are are hundreds of Tarantula species in the worlds tropical , subtropical, and dessert regions. Tarantulas do not use a web to catch it's prey, they grab with their legs and paralyze them with venom and they bite with their fangs.

A wasp can paralyze a Tarantula with their sting and then lay eggs on the spider. Then the larvae would chow down the still living spider. The Tarantula can shed their external skeleton in a process called molting. The Tarantula can also regrow the internal organs and can regrow missing legs.

Tarantulas are carnivores and eat mostly insects. After a long meal, the Tarantula may not need to eat for a month. Tarantulas can live to be 30 years old out in he wild. Today we went to the ZooZoo performance and we went with our cute little biddies. It was really fun to watch and there were many parts that were my favorite. The ZooZoo performance was kind of about a zoo. There were a lot of animals. Actually it was people dressed and acting like animals. The main animals that were in the play were anteaters, rabbits, frogs, polar bears, and penguins.

Each animal had something funny to do. Some parts had nothing to do with animals, but it was still very interesting. My favorite part was when the Anteaters would go out in the audience and lick peoples heads. It was really funny and people had lots of fun.

There was also a very funny part when the penguins would play musical chairs. It was funny because sometimes, the penguins would cheat. The polar bears would go out and sniff peoples heads. It was really fun. The frigs would hop around and be silly. The rabbits were doing something funny I guess. It wasn't that funny but the rest was very funny.

The ZooZoo performance was very funny and I really enjoyed it. And so did my buddy!

On January the 12th, Haiti was struck my an earthquake that was magnitude 7. The International Red Cross estimates that a third of Haiti's citizens will need special aid. The earthquake destroyed many houses, schools, hospitals, and the national palace of Port-au-Prince. Now, the city is without electricity or phone service.

A couple days ago, I wanted a hair cut. And my mom said that she will cut my hair the next time that I take a shower, she will cut my hair. But we were having toilet problems so the toilet was backing up and it was backing up into the bath tub so we can't take a shower.

So I had to wash my hair in the sink. Then I got my hair cut. I was scared because when my mom cut my bangs, she cut them too short and I thought that she might cut my hair too short but she didn't!

I really like my haircut because now it's not always in my face. I had to sit in a chair for a long time while my mom cut my hair. But my hair turned out pretty good. I think it turned out pretty good. done

Today we went to the University Museum. We learned a lot about art and about artists. I liked the museum a lot and the part I liked the best was the paintings. I like how the artists paint things from an event that happened or they were someplace and they painted what they saw.

Jenna told me what she thought about the museum. I asked her questions about our field trip to the museum and this was what she said:

Me: "Did that museum make you want to be a artist?"

Jenna: "Mmm. No, not at all."

Me: "Why not?"

Jenna: "I'm not good at it and I just don't like it."

Me: "What kind of art are you interested in?"

Jenna: "I'm not really interested in it but if I had to choose one, I would choose the 3D art because I like how it pops out."

Me: "What do you think was the worst part?"

Jenna: "They took forever to talk about random things."

That is what she thought about the Museum.

All this week, we had inside recess. I was surprised how cold it was. That was probably the coldest week we had all winter so far. I was on the computer most of the inside recess. We went to website called: Cool math-games.com and there is a lot of cool games there. I tried to play a game called meeblings. It's a pretty fun game but I'm not very good at it.

My friend, Odyssey, was playing and I went over and just watched her play. So the next day, when a computer was open, I went to meeblings and tried it. But like I said, I wasn't very good at it.

There is also a whole bunch of other games on that website. There's a list of games that you can play. There was another game called boombot. It was really fun but I'm not that good at computer games. Odyssey got all the way to level 31 on the meeblings games. It was pretty good. I couldn't even past level 10.

We also had a sub today. His name was Mr. Parente but he says that some people call him Mr. P, or Mr. PE. People call him Mr. PE because he used to be a PE teacher at another school.

My week was pretty good and I kinda miss the wonderful outdoors. But maybe by next week, the weather will warm up!

OWLS

Owls are very interesting creatures because they do very interesting things. First of all, they can't move their eyes so they move their head to look in the direction they want to see in. Owls need sleep too. But they do it in a different way. Owls sleep during the day and do their hunting for food at night. Owls eat tiny mice. Owls are very interesting creatures and they are known for making a "hoo, hoo, hoo" sound. Sometimes at night, when it's dark, and you go outside, you can hear them!

TURTLES
Turtles are very cute. The baby turtle s are the cute ones. The big ones can be a little scary. Turtles are known for moving really slow, and they kinda do. I want to talk about a special kind of turtle. The sea turtles. The sea turtles lay their eggs by going on the shore and planting their eggs in the sand. A while later, the (cute) baby turtle comes out of the egg and finds it's way back to the sea. It's pretty amazing.

CATS

I love the beauty of Winter. I like it when it is around January and we are getting more sunlight. Me and my friend Bridget like to hang out after school and a couple days ago, we went to the BIG, SCARY, university sledding hill. I've only been there once before and that was with my dad...in the dark. That was a couple weeks earlier. But when I got there with Bridget, we had to climb all the way to the top and that hill is very steep.

The first time we went on it, we went on the same sled. (That was a huge mistake) The first 5 seconds were fun but then we slid and started to sled down the hill backwards. That was really scary. Then when we got closer to the bottom, we flipped and fell off the sled. It was not that fun, so we never went on the same sled again. But then we went on different sleds and it was a lot more fun. That was on a Friday, and the next Monday we went on the hill again, but this time we got dropped off at the top of the hill. We had to find our way through some woods but we did it!

We almost got really lost.

"This does not look safe." I told my grandpa.

"We'll be fine."

The plane that I climbed on was beat up with dents. The pilot put our luggage in the plane and I went to say goodbye to my mom. Then I hopped on the plane and was ready to take flight. I t turned out to be really fun.

"When do we land?" I asked my grandma. I had to yell because the airplane was so loud.

"What?"

"When do we land?"

"What?"

"I said, when do we land?"

"What?"

"WHEN DO WE LAND?"

"You don't have to yell, I can hear you just fine. We will be landing soon."

I looked at that woman like she was crazy. She always does that to me. Act like she can't hear me when she can.

When we finally landed we went to the house we were supposed to stay in. We were gonna stay with one of my grandma's friends. She had a grandson named Anthony that was 6. There were so many mosquitoes.

"Do you want to play?" Anthony asked me when I was watching
t.v.

"OK. What do you want to play?" I asked.

"Let's go down to the graveyard!" he said with joy.

"OK. Let's go."

I have learned that you get most of your genetics from your parents. People say that I look like my mother but they must be kidding because I don't look anything like my mother. Both my mother and my dad have black hair and I ended up with brown hair. When I was little I had blond hair. Then It started turning brown.

Genetics from dad: nose..um.. think that is it.

Genetics from mother: knees, cheeks, feet, ears,

I suppose I do look more like my mother than my dad

The four seasons are Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

Spring: Comes after winter and begins March 20th. Spring is a popular season because the snow thaws and the grass comes out and the flowers bloom. Spring is a good season to play outdoors and tend to your garden full of beautiful, colorful flowers. Some think Spring is a rather beautiful season and that is very true.

Summer: When the tourists come to town to stay in our best hotels and resorts. Summer starts June 21st. Summer is when kids have no school so it is really fun to go outdoors or get into a new sport. Summer is a good season to grow vegetables and fruit. Some trees that grow flowers on them, bloom their flowers in the summer. They are very beautiful!

Fall: Begins on September 23rd. Fall is when the leaves begin to change color to red, yellow, and orange. It is a good time to go on a ride around to see the flowers change their color. Fall is when the woodland animals gather up their food to store for the Winter. Fall is when your new chore is raking the leaves. Fall is when the coldness starts to kick in and you are on your way to getting a parka.
