San Diego

If I got a ticket to go to anywhere I wanted to, I would go to San Diego because It was the first place I have ever been to instead of places in Alaska.

It's where I saw a famous singer sing a song, but I don't know what her name was, I played ping pong for the first time, and I swam in the ocean. It was the best time I had ever had. I wish I never left San Diego.

The first thing I would do is go around San Diego and see what's new there. Next I would go to to the beach and swim. The final thing is go to the places I went to when I was 8.

That's all the stuff I would do in San Diego.

Toad Rage, Toad Heaven, and Toad Away

I read a book called Toad Rage, it was a funny book. It is about a toad named Limpy that tries to stop people from squishing his family. He leaves his home to try to be friends with people. At first he tried to be a zoo animal then he tried to be mascot in the Olympic Games. He never got to be a mascot in the olympic games but he at least convinced animals to make there own type of games, saved his cousin from a truck, and made friend that was a human.

The second book was called Toad Heaven, it was an alright book but not as good as Toad Rage. Limpy had an idea on how to catch flies on the highway. He took one of his flat uncles, put tree sap on him and threw him at the flies, and told other toads to catch the flat uncle. Everyone liked his idea but when he left and came back four toads were throwing three tinier toads in the air. Limpy got mad and heard a noise. It was a four wheeler and all the toads hopped all around looking for safety. Only one toad was caught and that was Limpy. Then a scientist let Limpy go.

Imago Theater Zoo Zoo

Today we went to the Imago Theater, Zoo Zoo. It has different animals like ant eaters, bunnies, and polar bears. I thought some parts were kind of funny and some were not funny. My favorite was the penguins. The penguins played musical chairs and it was the funniest of them all. There was a lot of laughing and people were standing up to see. The worst was ant eaters. All they did was walk around licking the floor and people.

Museum of the North

Today we went to the museum of the north. There were some great paintings. The building was built in a weird shape. There's a lot of workers that work at the museum. One of the people that work there said that even the building was art.

The museum was really cool. I got to see old pictures from 1956. My favorite part was the listening room. The listening room changes the sound when something happens in Alaska. If an earthquake happens the sound changes to a low sound.

I talked to Karissa about the museum. I asked her 3 questions and the first one is what she thought about the paintings.

"It looks like they took a long time working on those paintings," she said. The second question was about the listening room. "It was my favorite part of the trip," her second response to the second question. The final question was about the port a potty."I thought it was weird that someone wanted stuff on there bathroom," her final response to the last question. What she meant was that ice cream boxes, deers antlers, and other stuff were on the port a potty.

3 Days of Inside Recess

3 days of inside recess was awesome. The 1st day i went to gym we played soccer. There were 4 teams and every 5 minutes teams switch. There was at least 30 kids in the gym. I got hurt when someone kicked the ball.

The 2nd day wasn't much better. Same amount of people were there and the same stuff happened. i got hurt by the same person and sat for 15 minutes. the team we were against were too good. we didn't score one goal the first 5 minutes, the next 5 minutes we scored one goal, and the last 5 minutes we didn't score a goal.

The 3rd day I stayed in the room. Gym was boring being beaten by 10 points every time. All I did was build stuff with bricks. Than that got boring so I played games on the computer. Recess breezed right by, it was 12:30.

Those three days were so awesome that I wished they had never ended.

Avalanche

We read an article out of the National Geographic. It was about a scientist named Dr. Adams. He has a shed on a hill and he has special stuff in there. Dr. Adams has a button that he pushes to set explosions to make avalanches.

Here's three facts about avalanches. When snow moves it moves at a speed of 60-80 miles per hr. The largest avalanches weigh about 100,000 pounds! For an avalanche to occur it needs a strong layer of snow, a weak layer of snow, and a trigger to send the snow down the hill or mountain.

I didn't know that snow moves that fast. It doesn't seem like it goes that fast. I wouldn't like to be chased by snow going 60-80 miles per hr. At first I thought that was an error in the article.

The Occupation of Denmark

Mr. Noon gave us a book to read called Number The Stars, about 3 weeks ago. It was about a girl named Annemarie that lives in Denmark. She learns that the German soldiers are taking Jewish people from their homes. Her mom tries to help their neighbors from Germans.

I read an article about the occupation of Denmark. It happened in April 9,1940. In the article it said that a group of Danish soldiers were guarding their post and that two of them died that day. Once Denmark surrendered that day the Germans were protected from a British invasion. Germans were almost on every corner of Denmark.

This is the website web site for the article.

Fly on The Wall

Mr.Noon said were flies on a wall and put us at a random place. What Mr. Noon meant about flies on a wall is that we observe everything we see and hear.

The first place Mr. Noon put me was in the office. Here is some of the stuff that I wrote: The first thing I wrote was that the phone rang and Mrs. Laiti answered it. The only person that asked why I was there was the nurse. The phone rang about three times while I was in the office. A guy that weaves came in the door and sat down. He started to weave but I couldn't tell what he was weaving. After awhile Mr. Noon came and got everybody from the place he put them.

The next place Mr. Noon put me at was by the gym. This is some of the things that I wrote. The first thing that I wrote was that a class walked down the stairs to the gym. They were a really noisy class. Some kids asked what I was writing. I didn't say anything so they just walked away. After awhile I saw Marcelo spying on me. Whenever I would look at him he just smiled at me and hid. Two minutes later about three classes came down the stairs at the same time. For some reason a teacher came up to me and touched my face.

Beelzebufo the Giant Historical Frog

I read an article about a frog that lived along time ago, its name is Beelzebufo. A team of researchers found a fossil of a giant frog that is as big as a beach ball. The fossil was found in Madagascar. They say it should be in South America because its just like the Pacman frogs. They don't know how Beelzebufo got to Madagascar. Beelzebufo is 16 inches long but weighs only about 10 pounds.

The biggest frog in the world is the Goliath. Its 12.7 inches long and weighs up to 7.2 pounds. Beelzebufo is only 3.3 inches longer then the Goliath frog. Beelzebufo s 2.8 pounds more then the Goliath frog. The Goliath frog is close to Beelzebufos height and weight.

I thought that this article was really cool because I like stuff about historical creatures.

My Little Brother Noah

My little brother is two months now. He is awesome but he punches me a lot. Whenever he kicks his legs, my mom says he is climbing a mountain. My mom calls him her little mountain climber. He makes the funniest faces and the saddest faces I have ever seen. He looks at me when I am by him, and when I leave he starts to cry. His room is right by mine. When he wakes up crying, I don't wake up.

The Six foot long Python

According to "Frightful Animals," in National Geographic, the blood python is very strong. Blood python is six feet long. The blood python wraps around its prey till its prey stops breathing. Larger blood pythons eat deer and sheep.

The blood python does not use venom to kill its prey. I thought all snakes used venom to kill their prey. Instead they squeeze them to death, then eats them whole. That's crazy because I always saw different type of snakes kill their prey with venom.

I learned a lot about this snake. I never heard about a snake 6 ft long. I heard of 4 foot, or less, but 6 foot is between them all. This snake is the weirdest I have heard. This is the only snake I know that doesn't use its venom in its fangs, but squeezes them to death.

My Horrible Weekend

I had the worst weekend ever! First thing that happened was that my dog ran away. I had to bike around the neighborhood. It was really cold and I had to have my winter jacket. I biked for a long time.

When I went home for a break my mom said I ruined the computer, and that I ruin everything. So I went into my room and my chair was hovering, and I thought I was going crazy.

I left my house to look for my dog. While I was biking, a random pebble hit me. So when I was biking my front tire did a three sixty and fell down. I scraped my hands and they were really cold.

My Cat Jinx

My cat Jinx is an awesome cat because he is like a super cat. He jumps so high that he can get a bird that's flying. Every time I see him jump outside, when he lands, he has bird in his mouth. But sometimes he doesn't have a bird.

My cat loves to play with mice. He throws them in the air and catches them. Then he lets them run away, and he would do that with another one. He's best friends with them, but they don't like him. One time there was an accident. When he was playing with a mouse he threw it up in the air, and a bird got the mouse.

He's always nice. He doesn't care who it is, but he would go to them and be friendly. This one time he licked my face when I was sleeping; then I woke up. He would lay right by you and stay there for a while. He loves people and loves to be petted.

He loves the outside. He would be outside for the whole time. He stays outside for 7 hrs. I never thought my cat would stay out that long until I kept count of how long he stays out there. My cat is the only cat that I know that stays outside for 7 hrs. He even stays outside when its raining for some reason he loves the rain.

The Weekends

On the weekend it's always a little boring. The only thing I do is bike with my friends, but never anymore. I guess they got tired of biking around the neighborhood. I'm even getting tired of biking in the same place every day.

So now all I do is stay home and play games, and I'm getting tired of that, too. I don't know what I'm going to do on the weekends. I'm running out of ideas for the weekends.

I'm going crazy. CRAZY!!! But keeping me together is school because school is awesome. That's all I do on the weekends.

A Girl Named Disaster

The book I'm reading is okay. Right now they went to see a guy they call Muvuki. The Muvuki can tell if there's been a witch or a ghost that's causing them trouble. The Muvuki said that it was a ghost that was out for vengeance.

I didn't like to read about a ghost that's out for vengeance. While they were talking to the Muvuki, Aunt Chipo was possessed by the ghost. After Aunt Chipo fainted, they got some water and they splashed it on Aunt Chipo.

Ambuya got mad at the Muvuki and called him a witch. That's all I got to, and I can't wait to get to the next part.

The UAF Incident

It was my brother's birthday and something bad happened. It was right after practice and my mom made me keep my gear on. So when I got to Pizza Hut my brother punched me on the chest and said, "Does that hurt?"

So I ate pizza and went to UAF right after. When we got there everyone got out of the car and ran to the hill. I got there last, so everyone got up the hill before me. When I got up the hill everyone just went down, so I went down, and when I was half way down, I noticed that there was a kid with a hard sled. I looked at my sled. It was just a flat piece of rubber. I couldn't steer my sled! Then I braced myself for the impact.
I should have looked down the hill before I went down but it was too late I was inches away from hitting his sled.

When I hit the kid's sled with my right leg, I thought I missed him, but I didn't. I went up 15 ft. in the air!
When I hit the ground, I landed on my right leg. I didn't feel the ground when I hit it. Everyone came running over to me. They all asked if I was okay, and I said I was "Okay."
