my brother won the spelling bee
Today we watched my brother win the spelling bee. Everyone went out slowly. Soon there were 3 people left - Karalee, Breneth, and Matthew. Karalee went out first on a word I can't think of right now. Then Breneth went out on twinkly. He spelled it "T, W, I, N, K, L, W,". Then it was my bother's turn. He had to spell the same word. "T, W, I, N, K, L, Y," he spelled it right, but he had to spell one more word to win.
"Easily," said the judge.
"E, A, S, I, L, Y." YES! Matthew won the spelling bee.
just plain nastiness [the B.B.S.F. club]
Brussels sprouts are just plain nastiness. They look like shriveled up heads. They taste like old cheese mixed with rotten eggs. And they smell like the inside of a barn. Brussels sprouts are like a shriveled head eating old cheese and rotten eggs while living in a barn. If you haven't tried them DONT. If you hate brussels sprouts too, join the B.B.S.F. [Ban brussels sprouts forever] club and we can fight brussels sprouts forever together. :)
greek gods
Today we are learning about Greek gods and how to use html tags to make words bold.
Right now I'm going through these bookmarks and I found this site that was really cool. It's a family tree of the gods. I found out a lot; like how the gods started with Chaos, god of nothingness. It is a really cool site. Check it out.
my weather issue
Ok so a couple of winters ago our power went out. It was scary because we had no light and no heat because our heater broke the day before. I didn't know what to do. My mom said we had to go to our rooms. I went to my room and climbed under my covers hoping for some heat when I found a hand warmer and my DS and suddenly I had heat and light. Even now I don't know how I got the hand warmer.
After a few hours my mom got me out of my room. When I got into the living room I saw this guy. He was huge with peircings and tatoos. He said to my mom "The power should be back on soon, the snow and the wind is making the power line shake like a a humming bird's wings." After he said that, the power came back on and he said, "Well there it is. I'll see you later then." And he left. I thought to myself, Yay the power is back on and that scary guy left. And that's the story of my weather issue.
Mario kart 7
For Christmas I got a game called Mario kart 7. It is a hard game. In the game you have 3 options 50cc 100cc or 150cc. I play 50cc a lot because it is easy and I can find lots of shortcuts. Right now I'm working on 150cc. It is really hard and the computers know all the shortcuts. If you beat a 150cc grand prix you unlock a special character. So far I have unlocked daisy, shy guy, and metal Mario.
Onto the levels. There is eight grand prixs that have four race areas on them. In the race area you can go from land to air to water in a couple of seconds. This game is very fun yet frustrating at times. I recommend this to anyone for fun short gameplay.
under the soil
Today we took apart our plants. By saying that, I mean that we took them out of the soil and took a closer look at the roots. The plants were really interesting. Some of the roots in mine had little hairs sticking out of it. There were so many roots that they had formed around the cup. Too bad about the plants, though. We had to throw them away.
It was really cool and interesting to see what the plants were like and I hope we get to do this again. :)
hold your sword up
I got a new game called The Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword. "It's the reason to play your Wii again." The controls can sometimes be hard. But the game is amazing anyways.
In the beginning you meet someone named Fi. You are his master and he lives in your sword, giving advise to you along the way. When you first get your sword and meet Fi and he teaches you the skyward strike. The skyward strike can power up Skyloft blocks that unlock treasures in Skyloft. It can also do extra damage to enemies and unlock maps.
In the game you get a bird called a Loftwing. Your Loftwing takes you places that you wouldn't get to on your own.
One of the first places you go is called Faron woods. In Faron woods you meet these creatures called Kikwis. Kikwis look like penguins and are very annoying.
This is a game for anyone who loves adventure games and challenging controls. I'm not very far in this game but I can say that this is one of the best games of 2011.
The Capture
Today I read The Guardians of Ga'hoole: The Capture. Its a great book. Today I read about Soren and Gylfie escaping from St. Aggie's home for orphan owls. Soren and Gylfie meet an owl named Grimble and he teaches them how to fly.
I can't wait to see what is next.
The Four Swords of Halloween
This Halloween we went trick or treating.
Here are the people that were going. Me smart, awesome, and dressed as a snowboarder. My brother is crazy, annoying, and dressed as a joker. Next his friend who is also crazy and annoying was dressed as a punk rocker. Last but definitely not least (this name has been censored for no apparent reason) well even though his name is not visible I can still describe him as crazy, one of my best friends, and he was dressed as Eminem.
Anyways we decided to go trick or treating at this creepy, probably abandoned house. So we go up to the house and ring the doorbell, “CREAK,” the door opens and this big hand pulls us in. “let us go” I say getting more scared by the minute. My brother started to squirm trying to get away.
“Silence.” says the hand. “Stop squirming.” Then my brother freezes, ice cold in fear.
After that I wake up to my friend and his brother screaming. I say, “Stop screaming and tell me why I just woke up.”
"You blacked out.”
“What?”
"Yeah the monster squished you and you blacked out,” said my friend.
After that something started making weird noises that kept getting louder and louder until I could see what was making the noises. It was on a weirdly shaped stage. I also saw his skeleton minions. The minions were chanting and marching in place.
The hand finally put us down. The “it” on the stage said, “We have some visitors.”
Then the it said, “Get them, you fools!” The "it" signaled his minions to start attacking, “Click, clack, click, clack.”
I say to everyone, “Guys, I see four different colored swords over there!” So we run as fast as we could to the swords.
"Click, clack.”
I yell to my brother, “Tell everyone to run as fast as they can and try to take out the leader, slicing our way through the minions. “Guys get down.” So we get down and the hand sweeps over us.
“That was close,” my friend said.
We get to the stage as fast as we could and went up to the leader. The leader said “you can't kill me; I’m too strong!”
So we say, “We don’t need to.” And we hold up our swords and they vanished with the leader and all his minions.
“We did it,” we all say as we walk away.
“I wonder if we will still get candy,” said my brother. "Hahahaha.”
five exciting things about my life
I have done a lot of different things in my life so far. Here are a couple I find exciting. I was born in Annapolis, Maryland. When I was five I moved to Fairbanks, Alaska. I competed in the FLL competition last year. Last year I also drove around part of the USA. This year I started sixth grade at Denali Elementary. This story tells about all of that, so READ ON.
I was born in Annapolis, Maryland. I don't remember much. Sometimes I remember things like fishing and riding in boats. I liked it there. I lived in Annapolis for five years.
I moved to Fairbanks right before I turned six. I lived at my grandma's house. Then I moved to a log cabin by the river. Now I live in a normal house by a lake. I moved a couple of times from when I was five until now.
I competed in the FLL [First Lego League] competition last year. We did good. We were the only ones to fix the broken bone. The Geek Gods got first place though. I'm going to do FLL this year and hopefully win a trophy.
Last year I drove around part of the USA. We went to Disneyland, Sea World, Mt.Rushmore, and many more. I also spent the summer in Utah. It was so cool that I got to see new places. I liked driving most of the time.
This year I started sixth grade. It is fun so far. I hope we do lots of fun stuff. Writing is okay but I like the other stuff more. Sixth grade has been fun so far.
