So I have this really awesome BFF! She is pretty, funny and smart. We get into fights but thats what friends do. Right? We are always playing around and stuff so we planned this funeral for our friend. It was the next day at recess. Since it was a funeral we had to invite other people because we were hosting it. So at snack time we made invitations for everyone that was going. We made about 8. It had the date, time and even place on there. When we were making our way to music my friend said, "What if no one comes?"

"They will," I said.

DING!! The bell rang, all the kids rushed outside. So we went to the place were the funeral was. There was no one there! I was so shocked, so we went off and just talked and played with our friends for the rest of the recess.

Gym every day for 2 hours...
I think gym every day would be a good idea because it could help us stay fit and let us have lots of exercise. Especially if we have it for 2 hours. We only have it for 30 minutes, and only 3 days a week. So it world help a little.

Now....having gym everyday would be a bad idea because everyone in the school needs a time to have gym, so if every class had gym for 2 hours a day, there wouldn't be enough time for everyone to have gym and it wouldn't be fair to some classes. That means around only 3 or 4 classes would have gym in one day.

Today(Feb.3)our school had a spelling bee. There wasn't that many classes there, and I was suprised my teacher even let us go. My teacher didn't last year, that's why.

When we first got there my teacher sat us down and stuff, what we normally do every assembly. I was confused because when we walked in there usually 6th graders get chairs and there were no chairs. Anyways, we sat down and the spelling word began.

I was so happy that both of my classmates made it to the 3rd round. They were doing very well. I was sad because one of them got a word wrong. It was ok because my other classmate was still in, until she spelled a word wrong too. It was so amazing because it was only a 4th grader and a 6th grader left. It turned out the 4th grader won.

It was amazing!

On Wednesday me and Danielle went to Wal-mart to shop for the weekend. When we first got there we went to go get a cart, then looked at t-shirts for a present for Kaylee. When we were passing by these huge teddy bears that said "Be mine," Danielle picked it up and put it in the basket. We started laughing together. Then about 10 minutes later we went to the makeup aisle to look for makeup for the movies. We threw lots of stuff in the basket.

We ran to all of the long lines and starting putting stuff on the table thingy that moves every 20 seconds. When the lady was done loading all of the items into bags she told us, "That will be 100 dollars."

We both dropped our jaws like we had seen a building made out of ice-cream. I had only had 60 dollars to spend and the total was $100.00. So Danielle asked the lady if we could take stuff back to bring the price down, and she said yes. So we started just throwing stuff out of the bag. We were very mad because we only bought a few makeups and 2 pairs of goggles for 60 dollars.

I like brownies with ice cream on the top because it's very sweet. It's only good when the brownie is hot though. It tastes like a treat from heaven and smells like one million dollars. I like when other things are on it, like caramel, chocolate, and other little sprinkles.

I am Charnette. I run Charnette's ice cream store. There are flavors in my freezer you have never seen before. Five divine creations too delicious to resist. Why not do yourself a favor. Try the flavors on my list:

sweet candy

When your pipes bust it's really bad because you can't use any type of water. You can't take showers, wash your hands, or use the bathroom. There are good things about that, though. You don't have to do the dishes and other things. I was really mad because I couldn't get all freshened up in the morning.

The way we figured out our pipes busted was when we were driving into my driveway, people were working across the street(construction workers). Me and my brother just sat in the car for a second. My dad went over to talk to the workers. He was asking what had happened. They told him a pipe had busted. I never had that happen to my house before, so I didn't know what was going on. My dad told me and my brother what had happened. He said there was no water working. I didn't believe him so when I was in the bathroom I turned the knob to the sink, hoping water would come out. Nothing did.

I was very mad because I was all sweaty from practice that night. I could not go to sleep without taking a shower so I went downstairs. I took a few bottles of water, filled it up in a pot, boiled it, and poured it in the bathroom. It was very hot but I didn't want to waste anymore bottles. The next morning the water was back on and it was a regular day again.

Winter in alaska is going to be very unusual for the next couple of the days. First it was cold the first day we came back to school, then today (Jan. 11, 2012)it was about -2. Kind of warm for our weather. Then tomorrow it's going to be very cold, my teacher says, and for the weekend.

I love when it is below -20 at school because we get to stay in for recess. We have choices to go to the gym, libary, walk around the school, or stay in our class. I love going to the gym to play soccer and other sports, but my teacher chooses sticks and most of the people choose gym so it's all out before mine gets picked. So I just choose walk a mile or class. Walk a mile is fun because we walk a lot and all talk. Me and my friends. It's also good exercise for you when you're having fun at the same time.

Today in school we took our plants out of our cups. About the first week of school we planted them. We used sand, dirt, corn, and beans. We put the sand in the bottom, then dirt next, and finally we put the corn and beans, and mixed it all around in the cup. Our teacher put a big bucket by the table where all the plants were, and filled it with water so we could water our plants every day.

About a week later we checked on them. They were so BIG and they were pretty. Mine wasn't growing that much, and everyone else's was. We all started forgetting about them and one time I forgot to water mine for like one week.

Today we had 7 people absent, so we took our plants and then one other person's and separated the dirt and plant. I took mine and Bubblegum's plant. When I took mine out of the cup, the the roots were adapting to the cup. Everyone was coming to my desk saying, "Cool." I thought it was weird, though.

After we were finished we had to clean up our area and do other things.

Today in school we had to perform two times. It was a concert for the upcoming holiday (Christmas). At school today first we performed for our parents, and then at 1pm the whole school did a performance (each grade). The little kids were so cute because they were dancing back and forth.

This weekend my family (me, dad, and my brother)is going to Wasilla for my basketball tournament.

I can't wait because I'm going to go shopping in Anchorage with my team mates. We are going to drive out on friday, right after school. We will back on Thursday, so on Friday we don't have to go back home, because it will take a long time to drive there. It take about 5 hours, so my whole team will get there at about 10 or 11.

We play our first game on Saturday,probably early in the morning. We will probably be done with our games by like 6 or 7. Then it's shopping time. We will be all sweaty and stuff so we are going to go back to our hotel room and take a shower, put on some jeans or nice clothes and drive to Anchorage, which isn't that far away. We will go back home at like 11 or something because we don't have any games the next day, so we can just sleep in and drive back at whatever time we want, of course I can't stay another day though because I have school on Monday. But I will be tired in the morning on Monday.

Today in math class,
Today in math class we went over fractions and learned a little bit about circles and percent.

At the beginning our teacher started drawing 2 or 3 problems of fractions. He showed us how to add and multiply fractions.

Then after that we learned how to use a template to fill the circle with the percents on the paper. We had to line the dot up with the template and find the percent of whatever number was on the paper.

First we did a paper with about 5 problems. The first was two boxes with fractions in them. We had to add one and subtract the other. Then there was a big box with a circle and a box with information. We had to look in the box copy the info from there to the circle by filling it up with percents. It was very easy, so I moved on to the bottom two. Those were just more fraction problems but multiplication instead.

Then we got another paper with four more problems on there. It was a bunch of circles and stories. You had to round the number (for example:12.7 billion) up or down from a decimal to a normal number and that was your percent to put in the circle. If it all added up to 100 it was right. If it was too much or too little you had to change a number.

After you were done with those two papers you had to work on page 152 and down because we have to finish chapter 4 by the end of this week. I was very surprised because this math class was very quiet. Usually math is very loud and its very hard to concentrate even though sometimes I'm the problem too.

Cold weather,

The weather is so cold right now in Alaska.

One day when my dad was pumping the gas at Holiday he said it was so cold that his hands would stick to the gas pump.

It also gets very slippery in the winter. When I was at the movies with my brother and his friends, my dad pulled up and I ran to the car and BOOM I slipped right on the ice. I fell on my butt. When I got up my brother was laughing at me. I was laughing too because I didn't really care, and it was funny.

UPDATE: Now (Dec 20) it's really warm outside. It's like 20-30 degrees.

I will be telling you today about my basketball season.

I am on a comp & IYB team. I just had a game yesterday and lost by one bucket. There was two seconds left. I had to throw the ball all the way from the other side of the court to our side so we could try to get a point. My teammate caught it but the buzzer went off(BEEP)and she missed it barely. My coach was happy because that was the best game we had played all season, he said.

Our whole team got to the game late because we went all the way up to Pearl Creek and then he said it was in North Pole. So we had to drive all the way across town and into North Pole. We got there 20 minutes late. Other players from their team were about to play until they saw us. Our quarters were only 6 minutes and half time was 1 minute.

The season is almost over for my IYB. We have a tournament on the 13th of November; then everything is over.

Next, my comp season is starting. We have our first practice on Saturday at Lathrop at 9:00 am in the morning. So early for running and shooting. I am really excited because we have our first tournament in December 2.

Once there was a janitor name Mary that worked at North Cal Elementary. She started working there at 1975 and died in 1990.

Mary had 3 children. One boy and two girls (Calli, Kristen and Jacob.)

One night she was cleaning up after the schools basketball game. She started hearing someone call her name over and over again. She just didn't listen and kept working and she thought it was one of the kids.

About 10 minutes later she started hearing her kid's name. She yelled out, "WHAT DO YOU WANT?"

Once again she heard her name. She left to go clean the bathroom but as she walked do the doors they locked. She got scared. Then all of a sudden the bleachers flew up in the air and hit her. She was bleeding to death. She called for help but no one heard her.

The next morning when the gym teacher (Mrs. Maisey) came in the gym, it was normal. No blood, no body, just the regular gym.

Now the school gym is haunted with with her body. Every night she comes out and walks through the doors and goes through the school and laughs and thinks she is alive but she isn't. One year later her daughter, Kristen, dies in the school library. The library was haunted for the rest of the years it was up. The police never found the mom or daughter. The daughter died from the bookshelves falling on her.

My name is Charnette. I am going to tell you some things about my family. I have a small family because I only have 4 people in it.

First,I have a brother name Charles. He is 14 years old and goes to high school. He loves football and basketball. His birthday is january 31 and mine is january 29. He is kind of tall. He loves dogs and doesn't like cats. And thats some stuff about my brother.

Next, I have a dad that's named Charles also. He is a cook at the Westmark hotel. The best thing he cooks is Shrimp pasta "yummy". He plays basketball and football. He loves dogs also. I love my dad!

Now, My mom is in the military. She doesn't really play any sports anymore. She just cheers for me and my brother at our games for sports. She is tall. And she loves shopping so she gets me lots of clothes and other things.

Last, And now me, Charnette. I am 11 years old. I love softball and basketball. I am short and I love dogs. I love school because I can come see my friends everyday of the week plus sleepovers. I have a lizard and that's my family.

Today I am going to write a story about my basketball game on November 8, 2011. It was at 8:00pm. I know, late. It was all the way up in Pearl Creek. We were almost late because we had to bring snacks that day.

It was 7:30pm and we were still in Wal-mart getting some 'yummy' snacks because I was in charge of bringing snacks for my team. We left Wal-mart and started driving there.

When I got in the building my whole team shouted "Charnette". I was so surprised they were happy to see me. They started telling me about their day at school. We were ready to go to the gym but I had to take off my sweatpants and sandles.

As I was putting on my shoes, my friend, Sachi, was rushing me because I was tying my shoes slow. So she picked up my leg and tied them fast. We all ran in the gym. We went to the very end and set our stuff down and started talking. The boys' game was still going on so we waited. It was 20 seconds left. I was getting so much butterflies.

Then when we were all in the huddle the coach named off all the people that were going in. He called me. I got scared but I was happy. After the game was over i handed out my snacks to everyone. We had won. The score was 11-20. It was a very easy team. We always beat them so we had confidence for going against them in the up coming tournament.

I was so excited for Thursday's game.

I love my friends. They're cool, smart and very supportive. When I am sad they are there. When I am happy they are making me laugh. I love my friends.

I have two friends name Jariah and Kristen. They fight a lot and I am sad. I hate when they do that because they always want me to choose sides. I chose to just walk away and go hang out with some more of my friends that don't fight. They are now friends but tomorrow they will be fighting for something that's not worth it. I love my friends.

One day it was very weird because I went to the movies at 4:00 with my friends Danielle and Jenna. It was weird to me because I had never been to a movie that early. I told them that I would meet them at the movies kind of early. Danielle didn't believe I was going to come because last time I was supposed to come but I had to get my hair done.

I went home, called my dad while he was on his way home, and asked him if i could go. He said yes. So I went upstairs to my room to get cuter clothes on. My dad got home; he went upstairs to get out of his work clothes so he could drop me off. We made a quick trip to the bank for some extra cash for the movies.

I went there; it was about 3:58. I was getting mad because my dad was about to take me home because they were taking long. They finally came. I was relieved. We bought our tickets and went to the movie. We got in line for our food and drinks. We all bought a large popcorn to share. The movie was over. I had such a blast! I love my friends.

Today I am going to write about my lizard. His name is Rainbow. He has orange, brown and white kind of skin. I get mad because all my friends are scared of him but on Friday my friend Jariah picked him right up. I was surprised. She just started laughing, then put him on her stomach.

He is almost two years old. The first day I got him when my mom got in the shower I couldn't stand a chance. I picked him up but when I was rushing to do something I hit his head on the top of the cage. I felt bad so i gave him a some food.

I am so happy I have a lizard!

Every Halloween there is a family, the Jones. They go all out for Halloween. A mom, dad, two sisters, and the boy Zack.

Zack is very popular at school. He has lots of friends but he has five main friends. Jariah, Sophia, Kaylee, David and Karly. Karly and Zack are very good friends. They have known each other since 1st grade. Zack has a big, blue house with a white fence going around. His mom, Patty, has lots of plants and flowers in the front of their house. His friends are all good except Kaylee and Jariah. They always get in trouble at school and at home so they rarely go trick or treating.

On Friday the 12, 2010 the kids went to Party Palace together to get costumes. Sophia is a dinosaur, Jariah is a rock-star, Karly is a nerd, David is a president Bush and Kaylee is going to be a robber going around stealing little kids candy.

The kids were so excited. About twenty minutes later they got kicked out of the store for putting on a bunch of costumes and making noise.

They all walked home after and laughed at all of the fun times they had in third grade. Then they spotted Robby the big bully at their school. He would always be mean to Karly because she likes Barbies. Zack sticks up for her but Robby is way bigger than all of them. They have told teachers but Robby always misses like half of the week of school and when he comes he's late.

It was Halloween morning. When Zack woke up he had lipstick on all over his face. He started laughing because he looked down and saw his little sister Charley with their mom's lipstick in her hand. He laughed, then went downstairs for breakfast.

There was eggs, pancakes, waffles, orange juice and oatmeal on the table. His older sister lauged at him. She asked what happened to his face. He just laughed and asked her to pass the juice and oatmeal.

After that he went to his room to get ready for school. He had to hurry because it was 8:17 and school started at 8:30. And he still had to wash off the lipstick. He was so excited to get his surprise costume from his mom. She walked in with a doll costume and a bag of makeup. His face got red like tomato soup.H e was mad. Zach told her to get a transformer costume not a doll one.

He left the house at 8:40 to meet Karly at the park at across the street to walk to school with her. She fell on the ground laughing. Zack yelled at her and said it wasn't funny but she kept laughing.

DINGGG. School was out and she kids were ready to go trick or treating. Zack and his friends went to a haunted house on Lakewood Ave. It was the first house that had ever made a haunted house on their street. They walked in the first part of it. There was a guy standing there dressed as a donut with a box of candy. Karly reached in the bag and pulled out a jolly rancher and two chocolate bars. They all got their candy and walked in.

There was blinking lights that were green and yellow going on and off with smoke coming up. There was a guy with chains wrapped around his hands and body saying, "HELP HELP." A guy with a chain saw came out and cut the chains. The kids screamed. In the next part there could only be two people at a time so they got a partner. Zack and Karly went first. There was blood all over the wall and bodies on the floor.

Karly couldn't stand a chance so she started running through the whole thing but then out popped out a monster. It had brown and gold teeth with junks of flesh going down its mouth. It was nasty but horrifying at the same time. Finally it was over. Kaylee and Jariah just walked through it just laughing and eating candy.They shared parts of what happened while walking through the woods to get to the mall. They had so much fun for the rest of the night and at 10:45 Kaylee was having a party at her house for them. The ended up staying at Kaylee's house all night eating candy and telling scary stories. Can't wait till next year!!!!!!
